It has always been my very highest dream to take a trip to the UK. Mostly I wanted to visit Scotland because my last name is Stewart and my family has always been very proud of our heritage. Then after learning about my Irish heritage from my Groggy and after doing loads of family research on the famine and the trip from Boston to Kansas I wanted to go to Ireland. I was always sort of an anglophile and wanted nothing more than to visit London someday as well. I never dreamed that I would be headed to south west Wales to find my temporary home in Lampeter, Wales where to I will be heading very shortly. As a military brat I have always been moving around, I never get to pick where, but I always have an adventure that makes my life exciting and which gives meaning to my little endeavors. My Mama and Daddy have given me a gift and I cannot wait to live my dreams up. Sometimes, I am not very nice to my Mama, and I want her to know that I am sorry for it. It isn't because I don't love her, because I do very much. It is because we are different. We don't always understand each other, but she is always there when it counts and I know that she wants nothing more than what is best for me. I want nothing more than what is difficult and perfect and antiquated and unique and that makes me difficult to live with sometimes. We like to argue about dumb things and we like to get over them too. My mom is the best person that I have ever known, and it is her fiery spirit that makes me want to live out my dreams. Sometimes I take my Dad's job for granted and I think that I am being drug around the country; but really I have been given the beautiful opportunity to see America as it is, as it was, and as I still want it to be. I have always been very proud of my nationality but also more curious and excited about the roots that brought me here. My tours around the states have given me a unique perspective to bring abroad and God Bless the US Army for that. Now because of my parents and because of my strong will to travel and embrace other cultures I am going to leave the states and I am going to go to all of these places that I have dreamed of because "not all who wander are lost." I have always been very sure of myself, but somewhere in the action I always feel uncertain about circumstances. It is time that I embrace the moment and take advantage of an opportunity that is not given to many. Off I go as a very proud Lloyd International Honors student of UNCG for an exchange at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in Lampeter Wales. 8 Days and one night until London! —
