What a busy drive it was today. We hit Portland during rush hour and it took quite some time to get through. Once we got to the I-84, it was clear sailing. We decided to stop and have dinner at McMenamin’s Edgefield, but when we got there it was packed. We decided we didn’t have enough time to wait around so off we headed..East. We ended up in The Dalles at Cousins restaurant. This is a restaurant that my parents stop at every time they come up this way. I have been a few times and was not very fond of it (eating out just isn’t my thing). Well anyway, Theo was starved so we stopped. I ended up having a cup of French Onion soup and a side salad. OMG!! That soup was soooo good. It was homemade and not overly salty like a lot French Onion soups are. Theo had some good ol’ comfort food...white bread, pot roast, mashed potatoes and brown gravy. He loved it. I bought him some old fashioned licorice and we were off. What a nice anniversary dinner! Yes, today is our 19
th wedding anniversary (I thought it was 20...oops) and what a great way to spend it. The kids are in Canada and we are meeting them in Fargo, ND. We have not had any contact since they crossed the border...makes me a bit nervous...oh what trouble is Mason getting in to...ugh...Anyhoo...tomorrow we head for Missoula via Lewiston, ID. I wanted to head through Walla Walla, WA (just back track about 10miles from here) and go to the Whitman Mission. I read a book about the Whitman’s who were Mormon settlers and were massacred. It should be interesting to finally see where it took place. More on that tomorrow. It is 11:30pm and I am having a cold Corona in the room getting ready to turn in for the evening...until tomorrow....

Glad things are off to a good start~ I hope you guys have a great time....Hopefully one of these years we can plan a trip with you and Theo! What fun it would be for a road trip and no kids! Love ya and have safe travels.....You buddy Jen!
