Santiago de Compostela - Looks Like We Made It!

As I sit to write this on my final day in Santiago I do so with a heavy heart in light of the terrible train crash last night. The crash and the rain today (seems appropriate) have had sombering effects on the city. I will go to the noon mass again today to meet a dear friend of mine, Jeroen (the one who has walked for over 3 months from his home in Holland), and to pray for all those effected by this terrible accident. My heart is heavy, and I really wish to go home, but it is cost prohibitive, so I will walk on tomorrow. What I hoped to find/gain from my pilgrimage occurred what seems ages ago - that and so much more that I never expected. I can't go home early so perhaps there is more for me to learn.

I apologize for the lack of blogs. Since arriving in Santiago life has been a blur - the excitement, the tears, the fatigue that set in after so much walking .... just so much. The city is amazing. The cathedral amazing. Seeing friends is amazing. However as has been normal for me - I long for the small town once again. So perhaps the walk on to Finisterre and Muxia will be good. Tomorrow morning I will strap my pack on once again and walk to the end of Spain - the ocean. I plan for the walk to take 4 days to Finisterre. Then I will take another day or two to Moxia before getting a bus back to Santiago. From here I will make arrangements to fly to Paris to go home. I have many friends walking on as well so I won't be alone!
