OK Day 3 Was a shit of a day.

I will enter it with all its gruesome detail.

4 am Awake Diarrhea , Spewing, after a couple of such good days. The decision was made with myself to take it a little easier, which you can see by today's results, (84th) looks like a major crack up.

Why is this happening? one reason could it be the result of pushing myself a bit hard yesterday.

I think I am drinking enough water, taking enough Endurolytes, wouldn't be at all surprised if perpet is beginning to have an effect and make me sick, amazing energy food, but god its disgusting after 4 or 5 hours.

Was unable to get any breakfast down, so hit the field with only a couple of gels and a hammer bar, not the good stomach lining porridge , the sustenance needed for a long hard day.

I am not getting the good sleep, you know the "back stroking in Tahiti stuff" popped two sleeping pills but NO !! still didn't do the job.

A couple of tent buddies were the recipients of spares, did it piss me off... to hear them purring away contentedly, and yes its showing with their results.

Today's stage is 36.5 kilometres with some sections of very difficult terrain and a highest elevation point of 2,000 meters

The first stage was a big climb, The second a gentle stretch of road but was still unable to get into my favoured pack shuffle. Yep all the old disappointments, what the fuck am I doing here etc, but decided the day needed to be finished in some fashion.

Stage three showed us the reason we are here, 600 meters up a mountain side, I was spewing my ring out, 15 meters then rest, it was horrible. But for every up there's a beautiful down.

Was quite strong for last leg, still no shuffle, just a fast walk, but made it through the day.

Back at the tent, jacket, hat sleeping bag, shivering in the heat, Yoko, Beautiful tent Mum whipped out a sizable dispensary, and administering all sorts of things.

What will tomorrow bring ?

It wont get easier...you will just get stronger
Wow pretty dramatic stuff going on there Bo. If a 250Km race over seven days is not enough, you need to add some energy sapping activities into the pot to challenge yourself some more. We are all proud of your efforts to date and admire the challenge you have set out to achieve... Be strong JP
