Today we met at 8:00 for breakfast tastefully prepared by Paulina. There was an assortment of homemade breads, muesli, jams and jellies, fruits. She offered us a Ginger, lemon and honey drink which was very good. Everything was made with good health in mind. Having only 1 full day in Nelson, we asked Paulina to give us some ideas and she had plenty.

First on the list was a stroll through the Saturday Market which showed off the wares, art and food of the locals. It was small, but vey enjoyable. Next, we went to the Queen's Gardens where we saw a duck flotilla coming towards us expecting to be fed. Luckily for them were other people who obliged. The Gardens weren't overly large, but there were 12 different types of trees that were featured. In the Cineese Garden we were amazed at the thin oval stone rock pattern that paved the walkways. We hadn't seen anything like that before.

We next went to the Suter Art Gallery. It was free admission day. A couple of local artists were featured in the gallery.

We had a WOW experience when we went through the World Of WearableArt and Classic Car Museum. This gave artists from all over the world an opportunity to showcase some of their more quirky creativity. It was awesome. Then we moved on to the classic car exhibito of which there were about 200. Afterwards we had a quick lunch and then we were on to our next stop, the Hogland Blown Glass Art Center. We got to see a glassblower mold a piece of glass into a small penguin figure.

An afternoon in the countryside would not be complete without a stop at a local winery for some wine tasting.

Next stop was the Tasman Bay at Rabbit Island where we had a stroll on the beach.

Last stop was Chandratiki Tibetan Buddhist Monastery which the Dhali Lama consecrated in 2002. We went in the Mediation Room and meditated. Our tourning was complete with artistic, fun, and spiritual experiences. We had a short time to rest before going out to dinner at HopGoods.

Dinner was superb. We were the first ones there and by the time we had finished eating, a group of 20 men sat right next to us, which brought up the noise level dramatically. We walked home by way of the Anglican Cathedral and Melrose House which is now used for special events.

Wow, that was a jam-packed day. We are leaving in the morning to drive to Picton to catch the Ferry to Wellington.
