On awaking this morning, John was not feeling well. Another traveler bites the dust. Having decided to forgo breakfast, the rest of us met in the kitchen for a continental breakfast, but not before we took photos of Mt. Cook and Mt. Tasman. The sky was blue and not a cloud in site. We were very pleased. After breakfast, we collected John, stopped at the local grocery store and picked up some 7-Up and antacids and we were on our way. We had a long drive ahead of us to Nelson expecting it to be 9 hours because we had to cross several mountain ranges. Deb and I were tossed back and forth relentlessly from all the curves in the road. We stopped at a small town to stretch our legs and pick up a sandwich for a later lunch. way, while Deb and I swayed helplessly in the back seat with each twist of the road. By now we calculated that we would arrive about 2 hours earlier than expected.

We were greeted by Paulina, our B & B hostess, and she showed us to our rooms which were situated in our separate bungalows amongst a beautiful garden and pond. Paulina tod us to help ourselves to tomatoes or herbs if we wished.

After dropping off our luggage, we decided to go to town and have dinner, but John decided to go to bed so he would feel better the next day. Nelson is a beautiful little town and we had a nice walk to a restaurant called HopGoods where we made reservations for the next night. We then proceeded to an Indian restaurant where we shared a few dishes. We sat outside under a canopy and it was very peaceful after a very long day in the car.

On they way home we picked up some more 7-Up for John and I was happy to see he was up and feeling much better to everyone's relief. We went to bed early to get ready for
