We left Nice this morning to make our way following in the footsteps of Napoleon as he escaped from exile in Elbe.
Once he landed on the shores of the Cote d' Azur, he made his way to Paris via Grenoble. This route has since been known as the Route Napoleon, and was made into a highway in 1932.

We stopped for lunch in Castellane, a nice town amongst the French Alps, with a small river crossing, complete with Rapids that would provide many hours of enjoyment. We waved goodbye to that standard Pizza, Pasta, Salad & Desert for some tasty Tuna Salad Baugettes, washed down with some Leffe Beer!!

During the lunch stop, we took the opportunity to take our first group photo!! Check out the group in the Gallery Section!! We have also included some othr pics that were taken from Pompeii, Rome, Venice Etc.

After lunch, the trip through the French Alps was a major highlight. We have seen some amazing panoramic scene scapes before, but this sure took the cake. The fact that we were up that high, (where the trees don't even grow @ 2000m) and we were winding our way around the apline region in the bus sure, provided some great photo oportunities.

Please feel free to check out the Galleries, as we have added some new pics, and we look forward to hearing your comments

Voulez-vous une bière?
Remember Mum is hoping for news of a grandchild before you come back. Try not to eat too many eclairs.
