Fame comes along with winning the Pushkar Camel Decorating Contest. One of the India television stations was interviewing the winner.
Dad and I went to the Pushkar Camel Decorating Contest where eight camels, in full regalia, pranced around to an adoring crowd. These guys were covered in so much bling, you could hardly see the camel underneath.

After being introduced and then walking around the ring for the spectators, the judges deliberated for quite awhile. Then, with the pomp of drums beating and horns bleeting, the top four winners were announced and given prize money.

When the winners were announced, the camels walked forward and put their head in the judges' tent (just for show). The owners of the winners were then photographed with the prize money envelope.

Can you see the camel under all this glory? He was very proud to prance around in front of the judges and the crowd.

Each contestant stood in a line and when introduced by the announcer, the camel would step forward and then walk a circle in front of the judges. People in the audience would clap and cheer.

Nothing was spared when it came to decorating the camels. These bracelets jingled as the camels pranced around.
