CaribeeCaribeeCaribee

all prepped and nobody to paint her
Hmmmm

Camp Caribee was a little less fun then usual this week, the inclusion of the Sandy game where you tie down all your belongings and pray for 3 days got old pretty quick. Boat rattling, people panicking ( the wal mart had bare shelves and they ran out of gas in many stations ) and the winds picking up all the time. All in all we were very lucky and blessed that nothing happened, the working guys at the yard did not seem to worry too much but then again they are not the ones that are sleeping in the boat when it is shaking like a leaf.... and they sleep well with a bottle of cheap burbon as a sleeping aid....

Needless to say the boat did not get painted last week and we ended up having to take down our dodger and bimini, which will stay down for now until the boat gets painted. OH ya the paint, it looks like we have to wait until there is at least 65 degrees of weather forcasted.... which is not really in the forecast for the next 2 weeks.... arrrrg. We cant think about this too

much or we will get down, we will just have to wait.

Project list also took a 3 day break because of sandy and it took us a while to get back in the rythme of things as the weather has turned cold and windy, well, cold is a high of 14 in the day and low of 6 overnight which makes for a damn cold walk to get to the bathroom at 6 am in the morning....

AHHHH Bathroom talk, well we have our first head completed and looks like lori will be putting her magical finishing touches on the place with some varnishing and heavy scrubbing of the counter which will include a hard rub with compound to bring back the shine. Lucky Lori but at least we now have 2 rooms finally completed. Its a step in the right direction.

Next up on the work list is to start on the rear head, this will be the one for the guests so we want electric flush and a holding tank and to make it all purdy. We also have to take out the stove for a cleaning and inspection sometime this week and really

All is working fine and looking great after Lori has shined up the sink.

So we have been here for 5 weeks now and have progressed tremendously even with our setbacks, ( its funny how a lost day can never be cought back up ) we are doing well but are quite tired, the list of things to do keeps on getting bigger and we can only work so much in a day. All to say that at this point our goal for being in the water for mid November will be impossible and for us to leave by December 1st even more difficult. We decided to have no dates now, decided to just work and when the boat is ready we will splash and when the boat is ready we will leave, the more you try and plan out 30 tasks into a certain amount of days, you are wasting time planning when you can be working.... does that make sense? So we add to the list and try to knock them off as fast as possible since we know there will be more things to.

Kitty report: looks like he is doing well but really misses going out on the deck since we were locked in for 3 days. he went back out yesterday but with the chilly winds and decided that the V birth sleeping bag is much cozier then being outside. He is doing fine and has found a spot near our heads to sleep on at night. I must add that having him around is really fun and a lovely distraction from shop talk.

Morale : as captain of the ship I will address morale with a nice dinner out tonight and a nice walk in one of the yards this afternoon, we love to walk the yards and see all kinds of ships. We cannot look at the time at this point and just keep on working on the projects at hand. This is not a problem yet but I can see it becoming one so might as well nip it in the bud.

Please feel free to email us for questions or encouragement. We are kinda getting lonely here.

Ok I have to go, talk to you soon.

Glad to see you and boat weathered the storm without any damage. Did any other boats in the yard get damaged. The head looks great with new fixtures. Its a slow process but by the time you guys are finished you will know, as they say, every inch and cranny on the boat. Take your time and relax HA HA. Anguilla is not going anywhere. Enjoy your dinner
