I am just coming out of one of the best weekends! It was awesome.. so this is a big one! (But i've had over 2000 veiws of the page, so the blog must be working.. or Mum is just constantly refreshing in the hope that more pictures will appear!!)
During the week there were the most gorgeous day, so I spent a few days in Soho having some very civilized lunches and lay in Soho Square to work on my fading tan!! Soho reminds me so much of Melbourne, I feel very very comfortable there, adn completely at home!
I then went onto explore some more toursit attractions, and went to the stunning St Pauls Cathedral. It was amazing the size and the detailing or all the cornessing, the shapes and designs of the windows.. It was just beautiful! Unfortunatly I couldn't take any photo's from the inside to help show you, but I am hoping to go back when the Chior Boys are signing, because the acoustics would be astounding!
As it was such a gorgeous day Wednesday, I'd arranged with the boys to meet them after work to have a few drinks and then go and
St Pauls Cathedral
At the moment they are doind alot of restoring, and cleaning of the outside, and this was the best angle I could get for now.. see Pirates of the Carribean.. They work in Canary Warf and as I got off the tube I was in awe.. It is all reclaimed land, each building built to the plan in the most imaculate setting on the docklands.. A much more sucsessfull version of what Melbourne's docklands hoped to be I think.. Home to all the big big international banks, extremely modern and the security that they boys have to pass each day is extrodinary, as it's potentially one of the biggest terrorist targets.. All the buildings are glassed, with beautiful window views and fantastic (but extremely expensive) bars and resteraunts all in a line along the water.. It was a bit harder for me to find the boys as they were all grommed in their designer suits and savvy shoes, very much fitting the scene, not looking the slightest bit like interns!
On Friday, Adam's friend from America came over to visit for the weekend, and it was awesome! I had a play pal!! Kristie is from Colarado, and Adam met her when he went over to the States for summer last year. She was just fantastic fun.. Loud as anything, and so crazy.. But it

Isn't it just gorgeous in the sun like that! was so so fun to have a "tourist" buddy and the boys were quite excited to show us around! So after spending the day with her while Adam was at work, we all had dinner with all they boys and went out with Laurence's collegues in London Town which resulted again in a walk home at dawn..
Unfrotunatly for us only a few hours after returning home, we were back out on the street as a fire alarm in the building went off at 8am and we were all evacuated into the street.. I didn't know we had so many people in the building! It would have been a fantastic way to meet lots of people if it weren't so early, and there weren't so many sore heads!! But being a false alarm we crawled back to bed for a few more hours sleep before meeting down the road for breakfast at noon! (Seriously.. I am very well looked after by this crowd! They know how to enjoy every minute of the weekend!)
We then headed over to Bukingham Palace and into St James Park, where we sat in the beautiful sun on deck chairs infront of a
Me and Laurence
Aka.. Big Laurrie! big brass band, it was just the most gorgeous way to spend the afternoon followed by sunset on the iconic London Eye and then into China Town for some late night noodles!! Perfect!! I could not have asked for a nicer English summer day!
On Sunday Laurence and I decided to head into Portabello Market in Notting Hill, as Adam, Frankie and Kristie had already made plans, but we got there to discover that it was a Saturday not a Sunday affair and there was very little to see! It's amazing just how much shuts on a Sunday, it's very strange for such a big city! So instead we went into the Imperial War Museum, as he has served in the Army and knows everything and anything there is to know and we only covered less than a quarter before meeting with the others again, because he had so much to share on each and every peice.. It was fantastic! So we're going to try and cover a small section each weekend!!
We met the others back in Canary Warf for a few drinks and an early dinner before deciding to go in and see Superman, as Kristie
was itching to see it with an Australian, because it was filimed in part at Tamworth and she thought that would make all the difference to her experience, which it clearly didn't but it excited her all the same!! And then back home where one of the boys has Google Earth set up on his PC where you can zoom right into the world map and see in pretty good detail, arial maps of the world. This excited Kristie even more and we each took it in turn to log in and find our houses! I grew quite concerned at this point.. Because I couldn't find my house to save myself! And poor Laurence kept on going back to parts of the map i did recognise and saying "Ok, so this is your school, which way would you go now?!" Still no luck! I found my street, but our house isn't there.. and I was getting increasingly suspicious as Tristan was home alone and M&D inter-state.. I was just imagining all the ways he could have destroyed the property!!
It was all too hard, so Kristie and I headed out for another drink, as it was her last night,
The London Eye
Like a giant ferris wheel, it roates and 10 inches per second and was opened in March 2000.. A fantastic way to see the city! and I didn't have to wake up for work.. So we popped back over the road to the local pub and obsorbed the British culture!
And that brings me to today and the end of my weekend adventures!!
