Auckland to Miranda

Thursday

We arrived in Auckland Airport with no hiccups. There was some confusion with meeting the shuttle for our campervan. They didn’t give details on where to go just that they would meet us at the airport. We eventually found them and our driver was very friendly and informative. He sounded just like my Dad! We picked up our campervan which is a beast of a thing and then made our way to the supermarket. After shopping we went on to my Mums. John fired up the Barbie and we all filled up on some delicious food. E & S went and picked oranges, ugli fruit and lemons from Mum’s trees for us to take with us. After food, some bubbly (not for Neil because he had to drive the campervan), and enjoying Mum’s massage chair, we said farewell and started on our journey to Miranda .It didn’t take too long to get to the Miranda Motor Camp; just over an hour. E & S were so worn out they fell asleep just as we arrived. Once we got them into bed, Neil and I headed straight to the hot springs mineral pool. What bliss! The water made your skin feel so smooth and silky, and the temperature was just perfect. We even enjoyed the sulphurous smell.
