Vacation Time Again
Up early to head to the airport, but not because we were going standby this time. Yes, we bought tickets, and on the competition. They were the only straight from Houston flight onto the island. Thanks to @coco_reid we will be spared the pain of returing from spending money to pay for 7 days of parking. Also for paying for a Rusty stay too. A was unimpressed with ABIA, especially when he heard there were no chain restaurants. So no mcgriddle to start the vacation. At Houston I got the pleasure of seening 4 grown people wearing ridiculously large clown sunglasses. why oh why, and wait for it, they got on our plane.
Ask and You Shall Receive
While sitting at the next to last row I told A we should be able to to deplane from the back. And then they announced that we could! Of course I think this only happens at 1 terminal airports. Looks like all the other Caribbean airports we have flown into and the "customs" were just as easy. I do have to complain about customs people, why do they stamp onto of other stamps?? There are 25

Crazy palm tree other clean plages, please use those.
Island Time
Island time started while waiting and waiting for the shuttle to get us to the hotel. And of course in this wait the Mexican sweat started. It is humid. Hotel is very nice. We think these are peoples vacation homes since there are some locked closets, but the place is very nice, especially since we got a "groupon" for it. Speaking of we were talking to some woman about it and she got mad at check in about paying full price for hers!
Banana Donuts!
The beach is right outside of the hotel and it is very pretty. We took up a few chairs and sat to to darken in the sun. Now I had read about the banana donut guy on TripAdvisor so when I heard him calling out "Banana Donuts" I ran for the guy. They are good!
Panic sets in
OK, now you know how much I don't like fish to touch me but I love to see them in aquariums and when they are far below when snorkeling. Well, we bought our own snorkels this time and ventured out since the barrier
reef is right off the hotel. A keep going out further and telling me to follow. So I tried. Until I ran into a stripy fish that was coming right at me! And then there were several. Looking them straight in the eyes sent me back to the beach. Maybe I will try again, but I still don't want them to touch me! The water is great and clear though, maybe too clear.
The Vintage Pearl
The infinity pool here is really nice and we talked to some people (2 worked for Groupon!) and the vintage pearl was recommended for a nice dinner. Walking down the beach we came upon and went it. They make you take your shoes off, smart move I guess but sand gets everywhere anyways, and then all I could think of was all the bare feet on this floor. Dinner was great, it is no set menu so they just tell you want the 3-course meal options are available for that night. We had salads with pineapple vinagarette, A had grouper and I had filet with bleu cheese, and for dessert: flan and apple strudel. Oh and we had apps of local shrimps
in garlic and butter. Which I did eat! They were good. Dinner really was nice, there were maybe 6 other people there but the place was really small, and dark.

Jealous
Food looks good! Bring me back a banana donut. How is the water? Still? Are the beaches crowded? I have seen Roatan on House Hunters. Maybe you have one of those people's vacay homes? Rusty sends his best wishes. After I took him out this morning, I couldn't find him. He was hiding under my bed. Keep the updates coming :)
