It seems to be turning into a biennial event. That is, Jan and I taking a big vacation with Dan and Marilyn. It still amazes me that we are perfect travel partners and always have a wonderful time. I guess that's a testament to how good our friendship is. This will be our fourth vacation together, having gone to Ireland, Hawaii, and our last trip to Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Ever since my road trip to Alaska in 2009, I've been yearning to get back there. When I returned from that trip, I promised Jan that the next time we would take a cruise, since she is absolute in her refusal to go on such a long road trip with me. She was and has always been a saint, particularly in letting me make a month long trip by myself.
We fly in to Vancouver, BC tomorrow and depart on the cruise Wednesday. The cruise will be 7 days, stopping in Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway before going to Glacier Bay and ending in Anchorage. After that, we will spend a week seeing some of inland Alaska. I'm excited to see some of the places I went to before and, of course, all the new places.
