Just before Christmas 2011, I temporarily(?) abandoned my backpacker roots and opted for a very grown up "All inclusive" week in the sun at Gran Melia Palacio De Isora in the Canarian Island of Tenerife. I could seriously get used to this type of break, especially at this time of year. The hotel was wonderful, the staff friendly, the food excellent and the weather fantastic.

We stayed at Sensatori for the whole week and only ventured out once, to pick up a moped in Las Americas and take a ride out to Mazca, a mountainous area on the North West of the island.

All in all, it was fantastic, would go back in a second if I could : )
