Sawa di kap!!!
Ok, finally I arrived after a long train ride in good old Bangkok - me that's Michael. The boarder crossing procedure was easy, the transfers from the 4000 islands were all in time. The train ride was quite rough and loud because I couldn't close my window, but after 12 hours I was back in that lovely crazy city. Eating Sushi and Sashimi was my first action on Sunday when I arrived - delicious. Finally I found e new lense in Panthip Plaza shopping center, my old one was broken - now it makes real fun again to make photos!!
Then on monday I went early in the morning to the embassy of Myanmar. I thought that I was early but I wasn't, about 200m of people where lining up at 8.15 o'clock - oh no!!!! O.K. fast getting a visa form, passport copy and 2 i.d. photos with white backround - that's it and then waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting ... 9 o'clock - embassy opens ... and slowing like a slug moving forwards ... and waiting ... and waiting ... until I was finally in the embassy to show my documents, got
a number and sit down ... waiting ... and waiting ... until my number was displayed ... then paying 1035 Baht, that I get it the next day and finally happy at 11.45 o'clock that I survived that procedure. The workers in the embassy are really nice, it's the fucking tourists, pretending not to know what to do to get a better position, squezzing in - as....s!!! Because of that victorious moment I decided to buy me a new Mp345 ???? player to have music again.
So next day, another hot day of course in Bangkok. Sashimi breakfast in MBK, before being again in front of the embassy again, to collect hopefully my visa!! And surprisingly at 2 o'clock there was almost nobody waiting?!?!? So waiting for only 1 12 hours because the embassy opens only from 15.30 to 16.30 o'clock to collect visa. Everything was perfect - with my little paper to collect the holy passport stamp I got it - juhuuuu - as one of the first ones!! In all this happyness I realized later that I got a quite strong sunburn, because in the afternoon you have to wait in the sun!! (Tipps: bring sunlotion, an
umbrella if available to provide shade, snacks, water or find someone staying in line while you maybe have to go to toilet and enough patience - it is worth it and the officials in the embassy are really very helpful)!!! So later in the day I went to the tailor to make some silk shirts, bought some books (by the way for all reading lovers - Shantaram is a must reading book - I love it) and finally booked a Thai cooking course!!
UHHHH - talking, drinkring until 5.30 in the morning and then getting up at 9 o'clock for the cooking course - very tired I went to the market with my very friendly cooking teacher - after 20mins of explanations about fruits, veggies, herbs, spices I asked where all the other participants are - no one - I was alone - wow - in another condition I would love to have that priviledge, but because I was really tired I was not sure what to think about that. But after a while of cutting, smashing, smelling, filling, cooking and finally eating, I was really happy that I decided not to stay in bed!! It was fun, a
lot and delicious - Green Curry with own made curry paste - Pad Thai Chicken - Spring rolls - pumkin in sweet coconut sauce. After that enourmous amount of food I was nearly falling asleep while walking home - and back in the hotel I fell asleep immediatly - eating narcosis!! After a little nap of 4 hours :-) I went fast to the post office and sent home another package of 7 kg home by ship - for 1590 Baht - really fair price!! In the evening I updated a lot in the internet, blogged, skyped, wrote diary and fell asleep really happy!!!!
So, that's it for now, I don't know how Myanmar's internets are working - but no worry, I'm into blogging now - and try my best to keep this updated!!
