i should have written yesterday but i didnt. the hostel is nice and gives a nice breakfast. they just need air conitioning or better air circulation. the workers here are nice though and the people here are too. just everyone i think more or less wants to do their own thing and dont really seem to want to meet other people. ate breakfast with a girl who was in my bunk. found out she lived in the area of london i liked. it sucks that she was switching hostels. i guess we could have made future plans but i dont think she liked me that much lol. anyway at breakfast overheard this girl saying she was going to daliland. its about a 2 hour ride from barcelona and was something i was going to do once i left barcelona. i actually went up to her and apologized for overhearing but asked if she wanted company. luckily she was nice and friendly and wanted company too. its weird how my first day in barcelona wasnt even really in barcelona. i probably spent an extra 20 euro doing this, but figured it was money well spent to be with a new friend. daliland was good but i guess if you dont care who you go with, you should just do it on your way of heading north. the girl i met that i traveled with is kewl and i cant believe she is only 18! she is the most mature 18 year old i have ever met. shes been traveling alone and stuff which makes me feel so damn stupid for being a super nervous almost 22 year old. anyway, we enjoyed each otherĀ“s company and actually went out together at night to a jazz club called harlem jazz club. that kind of thing usually isnt my thing but it was free, she was nice, and i didnt want to stay in the hostel all night. the music was good and it was a fun and untimidating night. met there a girl from switzerland i didnt even notice was in my room because the light has always been off each time i have been there. i did recongize seeing her shoes though lol. anyway, on to barcelona. i havent really seen much of the city so far. ive been on the metro and bought a pass for it. its kind of confusing. it just seems like the kind of thing that after you have been on it a few times, it becomes second nature. the hostel is difficult to find but its by a couple big landmarks like hotel colon and a really famous cathedral. im off today to go on one of the tourist buses. im spending more money then i would have liked to. seeing stuff is super expensive.
