Bronte, Tamarama and Bondi

We were considering a beach day today, but the weather although warm was a little over-cast so we decided to rain-check that idea. Our flatmates Jess & Andy invited us for a BBQ over at Tamarama beach so after a quick gym session it was off to Coles and the Liquor store to stock up on BBQ essentials before catching the Bus over to Bronte Beach.

We stopped for a while at Bronte Beach to say hi to some friends of Andy and Jess who were also enjoying a picnic on the beach. After sharing a bottle of champagne we walked along the cliff path across to Bronte Beach where we met another of Jess and Andy’s friends to make use of the public BBQ. The BBQ was a real feast with Kangaroo Kebabs, Chicken salad wraps, Sausages and Baguette, Brie and of course some beer and Champagne. However we were informed by the next patrons of the public BBQ that we had made a rookie error by not using tin foil on the BBQ… oops! At least they did have tin foil so didn’t have to suffer from our mistake!

There’s an outdoor exhibition on between Bronte and Bondi at the moment called ‘Sculpture by the Sea’. It’s set out across a cliff walk between Bronte and Bondi beaches, the idea being that the sculptures should make the most of the environment and views along the walk. We decided to take a walk across the cliffs and take a look at the sculptures – some were very clever, take a look at the Google Pin and the Golf Hole, and others were just a bit too crazy for us!

When we arrived at Bondi we had a quick drink in a bar on the promenade before catching the bus back home in time for some Skype Calls, and Will to watch the Grand Prix!
