We´ll be leaving Granada on the 9pm train tonight and I´m sad already. This is a wonderful small town. You can cover virtually the whole place on foot, we haven´t used public transport once. Two things I´ve noticed..lots and lots of scooters and mopeds because the streets are so tiny you wonder how buses actually get through but they do. The other thing is every homeless? drunk has a dog, sometimes two that follows him around.
We went to the Cathedral yesterday and Evita got cursed by a gypsy!! She wandered off to go window shopping while I stayed in the cathedral...some old lady offered her a sprig of rosemary then grabbed her hand and started telling her her fortune in spanish...when she was done she gave the universal hand signal for money. Evita played dumb and got a string of curses put on her.
We saw the tombs of Ferdinand and Isabella, the catholic kings who gave Christopher columbus the money to go to the new world. Granada was the last city to be reconquered by the spanish so there´s a lot of moorish influence in the buildings and a whole arab quarter...they didn´t drive them all out!! We went
up to the top of the town to the mirador of san miquel, a lookout over the city and you can see the whole alhambra. With the Sierra Nevada mountains in the background it´s breathtaking.
Hey Sarah...what´s your shoe size?....I´ve seen so many shoes that are YOU!!
Weather has be great since England..just a couple of short sprinkles now and then but it looks like rain today......

i cant believe eva got cursed. its cool that the weather had held up for the most part. i wish i could say the same for here. its getting better though. i hope you are having fun and my thoughts are with you both always. be extra carful now that youre traveling with a jinxed person.
