We loved Wyoming and almost bought an RV lot in Star Valley, south of Jackson Hole. With whitewater rafting, golfing, fishing, swimming and pickleball, we thought it a perfect place for the family to come visit us. However, when I found out it closes October 1st due to snow and doesn't open until mid-May...due to snow...need I say more!

We moved through Utah, camping at Bear Lake State Park. Due to heavy rain and flooding from mountain snow the 2 mile beach was under water along with 20-year old treees. This didn't take from the beauty of the lake itself.

The road out of there was switch-back, hairpin turns. Yikes! We met new friends parked next to us in Utah, Paul and Mary. They are Escapees who bought their Holiday Rambler at the same place we did! Mary clued us in on Escapee properties and we will check some out this winter.

Next, after camping at the Terry Bison Ranch (again) and having a bison burger (rated #1 by Food Channel Chef Bobby Flay) we headed over to the Rocky Mountains.

The Rockies have their own special beauty and we wished we had more time to explore them. Sadly, no stinking MOOSE! However, our camper-neighbor went bow and arrow hunting and shot an elk! So we were invited to an elk cookout over Labor Day weekend. On to Colorado Springs where we will have new toppers put on two slides. Along the way we hope to meet up with other RV-friends moving South for the winter.

Mountain Adventurous
I really love all this camping and adventure in the woods experience. I´ve been to Colorado a couple of times with my family and it’s amazing. Something similar but with a train involved in the trip, much more fun, was the Chepe adventure. Here you travel in a train through beautiful natural landscapes and make stops in the villages nearby. Really nice trip.

Rocky Mountain High??? Like John Denver "high"?
Wow, sounds like you two have been smoking some local weed............ha ha. I am in Wisconsin this week, chilly; ready to go back to Houston!! Let us know if you are coming towards us; Ron and I just bought 5 acres by Lake Livingston and we'd only charge you $2.00/night to park on our property, (that is our Senior Citizen special pricing, ha ha.)

Memories
Now you have John Denver singing in your ear too! We may be headed as far as Livingston this winter. $2/night is cheaper than the Escapees! Good to hear from you.

Awesome pictures
I just love the beautiful mountain scenery. I was thinking of you and Tom as we visited the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam last month. So glad to hear you are both doing well. I am glad you found out that Star Valley is closed 8 months a year before you bought the lot. That is a long time to be stuck in one place.
