Wangi WangiWangi WangiWangi Wangi

The one and only barber & beardery in Wangi Wangi, mind you there wasn't much else except a hotel and very entertaining company!!
We've taken the car back to Sydney and the guys at CITY CAR MART took it back at the agreed price on the buy back deal. Great service from these guys, we bought an old (common in Oz, cars don't rust here!!!) car, but a good runner, didn't use any oil or water during the 12,000 k of touring Australia. We will thoroughly recommend these guys to anyone considering travelling through Australia and thinking of purchasing a car, van or 4 wheel-drive.
It was a very quick trip to Sydney; we hadn’t left ourselves enough time!!! We drove 840k on Tuesday, leaving only 120k to drive next morning which meant we were late looking for somewhere to kip in Tues night. We tried the holiday park at Morriset, but this was full as was the local hotel, however they gave us some telephone no’s and we eventually found room at the Wangi Wangi Hotel in Wangi Wangi, a small village on a peninsular at the edge of Lake Macquarie. For such a small village the hotel had an excellent local clientele, and we were well entertained by some of the locals. Thank you Wallace, Steven( Barber and Beardrie) and Grant for

A winters day on Sydney's famous Harbour Bridge, it wasn't really that cold, just 10 degrees C!!!
giving us one the best night’s entertainment we’ve had in Australia!!!! We did do a quick tour of the peninsular before leaving early next morning, as the night before it was dark when we arrived and we had no idea where we were!!!
Next morning we drove over the Sydney Harbour Bridge for the first and last time and amazingly arrived at Darlinghurst Street without having to do one u-turn. A quick settlement over the car, the cash in our pocket and off to the City center where we took a local train to Milsons point just on the north side of THE BRIDGE so that Maggie could walk across it which was an ambition since we first arrived in Sydney. Then back to Chinatown for a quick meal before heading off to the airport to fly back to Brisbane airport, and where we were gratefully picked up by Tim, thanks again for your help.
It’s all public transport from now on, so Thursday morning we caught a bus and then another to get to the Indian Consulate to collect the Visas and our passports. Good job we came to Brisbane a few days early as the Visas were just

Walking over the Sydney harbour Bridge gives fantastic views of the Opera House and Circular Quay, however you do risk being run down by one the of many joggers!!!
back from Canberra, with only one working day to spare. How come the Aussie’s get a long weekend for the Queen’s birthday, that’s this coming weekend, and we don’t in the UK. Perhaps this is why, although they moan about us poms they don’t really want to get out of the Commonwealth; as they’d lose a public holiday!!!
Now all that’s left to do it the washing and packing, the packing will be interesting, as from now on we have to carry everything, so it will be only what’s absolutely necessary!!! Anyway the next blog will be from Singapore, we should have some interesting photos from there I hope.
So sadly it’s bye bye for Oz, Singapore here we come!!
Apologies to Kerrye, Rob and boys, that we didn’t have time to stay over and we knew you would be busy getting ready for the Nationals. Hope you have a great time in Perth and good luck to EVERYONE we've met going to the Nationals.
PS Thank you Tim for putting us up!!!

To make up for just being a river city, Brisbane has built a beautiful, if small lagoon, complete with sand and body beautiful life guard!!
