Ari and I waved goodbye to Sydney and our loving families and set off on our latest adventure - first stop... Singapore.
The reason for this destination was to visit one of my bestest buddies from Melbourne. We hadn't seen each other since the immigration bastards in Australia booted her out of the country back in 2003.
We landed at Changi airport in the early arvo and after the hugs and kisses from Jill, we headed straight to our apartment to change into shorts. You see, Singapore is one giant sauna - 30 degree heat plus 90%!h(MISSING)umidity makes you sweat... all over... profusely.

The city is spotless. I'm not saying you can eat off the ground but there's many laws that ensure the public keep the city clean. I saw a shirt that said it all... it said "Singapore is a Fine City: fine for chewing gum, fine for spitting, fine for jay walking, etc". They've even cleared the city of all the homeless. I wonder where they put them?

Day 1 was spent checking out the city, going from shop to shop to stay out of the heat. That night, Jill and I were back to our

usual bad habits of drinking and talking crap all night. We ended up in a bar that had it's own hot tub. Too bad I left the boardies back at the apartment. Drinking in Singapore can be very expensive and you basically have to stick to happy hour for good deals.

Day 2 wasn't so good. It was mid arvo in Chinatown when my guts didn't feel too right. I rushed back to the apartment and more or less spent the rest of the day running to and from the dunny. I'm not sure exactly what was wrong with me but I put it down to my stomach being unable to digest brekkie and lunch.... oh, and the Asahis and saki we had after lunch. Ari still went out that night with Jill and her 5 girlfriends (dammit!). That's okay, I made a full recovery.

I can't remember what happened on day 3. That's what you get for writing a blog two months down the track. Take note kiddies.

Day 4 was spent lazing around the man-made beaches of Sentosa Resort. At 34 degrees, today was the hotest day we experienced but the beer and vodka fruit

This is a well-known tourist icon - head of a lion and body of a mermaid. I didn't get to see it as I was sick at the time. Jill said I resembled the statue cos that's how much I was throwing up... cruel
juices kept us reasonable cool. With Jack Johnson playing his mellow surfy music in the background, it was a nice relaxing day. We also checked out the aquarium and a pink dolphin show. Yes, these dolphins were pink... and ugly. They were pink, ugly dolphins. Trust me... I know a good looking dolphin when I see one. And these dolphins weren't good looking. I could talk about how ugly they were all day, but I won't. However, they did perform the usual dolphin tricks so I'll cut them some slack.

On Day 5, Jill took us to a friend's apartment and we spent the day swimming and playing tennis. Was very relaxing.
That night, Ari and I said goodbye to Jill *tear*. She was an awesome host, taking a few days off work to show us around her city. Thanks Jill.... you ROCK!!! Hopefully see you again real soon.

The next day, we were off to Vancouver, Canada.
