Bahai Temple
Temple in Haifa of the Bahai religion After a sleepless night in the Eden Hotel and our internal clocks messed up we began our tour. We started our journey in the small town of Zichron. After a short tour we drove further North to the city of Haifa where we toured the Holy site of Elijah's cave. Haifa is a beautiful city situated on the Medieterran Sea. While in Haifa we drove up Mount Carmel and viewed the beautiful Baihai Gardens and Temple for the Prophet named Bob.
Finally we were given a chance to eat an authentic meal in the city of Acco. I enjoyed a wonderl meal of Schwarma which was marinated turkey meat put in a pita pocket and stuffed with salad, hummus, and babaganoush.
After eating we visted the Crusader fort and Castle in Acco which goes back thousands of years to the crusades but more recently was a prison for Jews during the fight for Israel in 1947.
Later we were driven to the Holy city of Zafet, which is city of cobblestone and brick perched on the hillside with beautiful and old Synagogues and little shops.
Finally our day came to end at the Sea of Galilee at
our little resort hotel. We were treated to a lesson in traditional druming on the Berrekah or a type of bongo drum.
Israel so far seems safe and welcoming. We are greeted by nice people along the way. Although there is soldiers walking around with their firearms, they are always nice and willing to stop for a photo opportunity.
