New Vietnam You are right about when you think of Vietnam, you think of Vietnam War. Now you have change my way of thinking on Vietnam. My Dad was there from 1967 to 1968 and very fortunate to have him back in one piece and alive. I would like to have pictures of Da Nang Airbase because my Dad had pictures of the airbase. I want to make scrapbook of his Military life and would like to be able to show the diference then and now new Vietnam. I really enjoying reading your journey and can't wait to hear more.
Take care,
Brenda
Lots of travel... they should have called this trip trains, planes, automobiles and things that float or fly. My butt hurts just thinking about all that traveling.
Damn, that rocks looks like blast. I have always wanted to fly in a helicopter. That would be a treat in itself and you get to see the falls, bonus. However, Iam affaid to say it out loud because with my luck it would be in airlife but if I get my choice it be a trip like yours. Have fun and see you soon.
great pictures Loved the pictures in the Pantanal, especially the moon. Sounds like a great part of your trip. Loved seeing all the wild life, I would like that part. You looked so comfy in that hammock. So nice of you to share this with us.
Its not a story till... something blows up. No one really watchs a car race to see who wins we just want to see the crashes. However, don't go winning a Darwin award by selecting your self out of the gene pool. Have fun and by the way... fire in the HOLE.
Bus Ride from Hell well at least it was only 7 hours. Try taking greyhound from chicago to san antonio for 29 hours next to a dude named pepe who just got ouut of prison and wants to open a tattoo shop. not bollivia but sucked all the way.
socks for hiking $20
new hiking boots $80
shots and visa too travel $700
guided tour through S. AM. $6500
sitting next smellly locals on nasty broke down bus in Bolivia...priceless for the rest you could have stayed home. Have fun and take lots of pictures. Hint: stay warmer at night by putting on clean dry close(not sweated in) and a winter hat. you will be toasty warm and sleep great.
Blessed your heart for doing the Bike ride on Death row. And you are alive to tell about it. There no way I would be able to do that for I would have panic. Can't wait for the next journal. I am glad that you are having fun.
OMG Oh my God, I would have never made the 1st hour of this trip. I can see it was worth it for you to make it. Very beautiful pictures and awesome scenery. I almost died when I saw the stone steps.
Awesome! Herb! the pictures you've taken are absolutely beautiful. I have only gotten altitude sickness once, and it sucked! However, I don't think it was quite as bad as you have described. Hope you are having a great time!!!!
Better you than me So, you left sandy San Antonio for more sand??? Looks like you are really enjoying yourself except the poop smells. Loved the animals on the rocks. Stay safe
Damn, I got excited just reading it. That sounds like fun. I have always want to go sand boarding and dune buggy racing. However, I too am cleaning out sand, from the house where the kids drug it in. Not as much fun. As for the poop smell, I could have given you that for free right here. Travel on, take pictures and practice krab maga.
and away you go , again Loved the start of your blog to South America, looking forward to more. Pictures are great as always, makes me feel like I'm there.
Take care from your number 1 fan
On the road again!! Oops actually it's country hopping. I am so happy for you to be able to travel the way you do. Once again, great journal and awesome pictures. I wish I can write like that. It is very interesting to read and love to look at your pictures. Have a wonderful time and I guess I better keep your Mom busy til you get back home safely. HA!!
