Yay! I'm officially an experienced sea kayaker. Today was amazing...we drove to the tasman sea coast around nine and started with a four hour hike through all sorts of terrain--beachy and rainforesty with amazing views...all of these pics are from today. Our hike ended at the edge of the sea where there were big red kayaks waiting for us (complete with the token gorgeous instructer of course). We had to pile on all of this crazy gear so that we were all looking pretty sexy (see corresponding pic for reference) and then off we went! Me and Molly rode together so we didn't have to worry about the guys flipping us....but they did get pushing our rudder out of the water so we couldn't steer anywhere! Then they yelled nasty anti-vegetarian comments such as "eat a burger and catch up already". How rude. But despite these acts of terrorism it was amazing. We got an arm workout like you wouldn't believe (and it looks so easy!) and managed to keep up with the burliest of boys. The weather was perfect (chilly but the sun was out) and I would have been content to sit in that kayak indefinitely just enjoying the
of the sea and people-less beaches. I'm so glad we came in the off season, because there are hardly any tourists around. We kayaked for over three hours and I figure if I did a few months of hiking all morning and kayaking back I'd be in incredible shape. What a life that would be. So we just got back into town and my shorts are still a little wet from the set and I have a two hour lecture in a few minutes but it's all ok because I'm in the most beautiful country in the world!!

I'm so proud of you! What a way to build confidence in yourself and get a workout, too. It's so hot and dry here, so be glad for the cool weather. Lots o love....
