The sun was up, the leg from Liz felt a lot better, absolutely nothing to stop us from a visit to the Medieval village of Pals. From different people we were given the advise not to leave the area before visiting this completely intact village. Not that far away from where we are staying so no need to rush of early in the morning. We had lunch first and left in the afternoon. Just 20 minutes from here we found this amazing place tucked away on the site of the new village. Lucky with parking, we did not think there would be that many visitors, but there were. Liz looked for the information office and was told by the very friendly tourist train operator, sorry it was closed till 5 p.m. We realised that people go to bed here in the afternoon between 12 and 3.30. After 3.30 life starts up again and everything comes to life. Shops open and more and more people appear. That was good for us, for that gives the opportunity to take video and pictures. All you find now are the tourists like yourself, doing what you do. Only some restaurants were operating waiting for thirsty tourists and jangling kids, asking for ice creams. We walked around this unique place that gave us many opportunities to make the video and photos we were happy with. Later we visited a few of the souvenirs shops to see if there was anything worth while buying. Before leaving we tried again to buy an ice coffee. We tried that before in Barcelona, without success. On the little plaza was this nice chap that convinced Liz he could do it. I warned her, forget it. So here we sat on a steel chair listening to all the different languages around us. Not long and here came our ice coffees. Two wide bowls, white froth on the top, pitch black coffee in the bottom filled with ice cubs. It was undrinkable. Even with lots of sugar. The Restaurateur noticed we did not like it. Liz explained to him what is an ice coffee. Oh Yes he knew now. Picked up the bowls and was back a little later with two high glasses filled with cream and ice cream but now on the bottom of the glass was hot coffee. unbelievable, they have no idea how to make it. Anyway the taste of the last lot was better, at least we finished it. Just a short time to get back, we did have a nice day. The day after tomorrow we will hit the track again, till than. Bye for now Liz & Allan.
