Greetings all,
David and I decided to leave on Sunday from Yardie Creek, Brian and Debbie said they would stay until the weather is better. We took off had a lovely sail down to a gorgeous Bay not sure what it was called still inside the reef. We had a reasonable sleep although the wind came up during the night we were up a few times checking on things.
We set sail at 7.00pm for Coral Bay today (Monday) and can I say it was a very spirited sail, we went outside the reef as the next stretch of the reef has lots of ‘Bommies’ which are large coral heads so you need to be very careful. Anyway……. back to where I was very spirited sail, we sailed between 7.5 – 11 knots whoo hoo…….. were we flying and David would not tighten up the jib, what a spoil sport he is. I could hear the jib saying “tighten me up I want to fly “ the sea had a 1.5m swell with a 600mm chop so we were rocking and rolling. After 2 hours we went back into the reef and sailed a comfortable 7.5 knots for most of
our journey. We saw Manta rays, Dugongs, schools of leaping fish, the water is such a beautiful colour and so clear, I have taken a photo of the water so you can see it for yourself.
We finally got here after 7 hours and are parked at Mauds landing very nice spot.
It is one of my gorgeous daughters Birthday tomorrow Rachelle Happy BIRTHDAY hope you have a special day and a lovely week away.
Hope you all enjoy my wonderful photography I am enjoying taking photos, David is usually the one who takes the photos and we argue which are the best photos. I have to say I think mine are..
