As some of you know, one of my goals for this trip, is to find the best cheesecake in Manhattan...a worthy goal, don't you think? So, straight away I got a piece from Roxy's, my historically favorite deli, where the selection outdoes all the rest! Toffee heath bar, always Randy's favorite, was my first choice and it was delicious! So...yesterday I walked down 7th Ave. to both Stage Deli and Carnegie Deli and picked up a couple of pieces that together could feed a small town in Arkansas. The selection was poor, but plain cheesecake is hard to beat so I started my taste test yesterday and it will continue. So far Roxy's is winning on selection alone and as much as I love cheesecake I'm finding my taste buds are not that discriminating...it's all good. If anyone has any suggestions for where to get cheesecake in Manhattan, let me know and I'll keep you posted on the results of the search!

As for my wandering on Sunday, I have to say...I WAS on Fifth Avenue in NYC, so I can't really complain, right?? And it was a beautiful day to walk around Rockefeller Plaza, ice skating and all, Saks Fifth Ave. ON Fifth Avenue, the beautiful Library (again!), and all of the other wonders that exist there! I found that 47th St between 6th and 5th Aves is also called Diamond Jewelry Way and even on Sunday there are guys in front of every store trying to lure people in to look at jewelry. They have all the lines down, so when I feel dowdy, I'll know where to go for a compliment!

Yesterday I did my laundry in the high tech machines on my floor. I had to go down to the concierge to find out why my $5 card wasn't working. That's when I found out the $5 is just for the card, then you have to add money for the wash. You have to buy the card with a credit card and then put cash in to get money on the card. Then you put the card in the machines and it gives you a balance. Evidently it's been a long time since I went to a laundromat.

Then I decided to heat up some leftovers in the oven. Within two minutes, the smoke alarm was blaring and despite pushing the middle of it with a broom handle, like I would at home, it just continued to blare. I had to wait for it to go off on its own which was several minutes later, hoping the fire dept. wouldn't come and charge me for a false alarm. I knew there was a reason I don't cook and I just found another one.

I went to my trusty TKTS booth for Monday night tickets and waited in line longer than ever but ended up with a front row seat for "Baby, It's You!" the play I was looking for. It's about the Shirelles and the woman who started them and the Scepter Record Label, who also recorded Dionne Warwick. Great story and amazing music! One of my favorites for sure.

This morning I got to Skype with Jake, which is always a trick at Starbucks, but it was great! For those of you who have been asking, he misses Bethany like crazy but is hanging in there. He just did his first bike race in Korea last Sunday and wrote about it so if anyone is interested I can email you the journal entry. Emily is busy with the end of her second year of law school and was just elected president of the Texas Wesleyan Law School Democrats, is in a relationship with a guy who is graduating from the Air Force Academy in May. And as previously mentioned, Maggie and Reza just opened their second dental practice, this one in Fort Worth and are both working hard there! So as far as I know, the kids are doing fine!

Speaking of kids, I'm having lunch with Chris Barlow, Rob and Roberta's son who graduated from Fordham last year and is living and working in the city! So I gotta go...love you all and love your comments and emails!!

I've read great reviews of "The Book of Mormon" - have you seen it yet?
