Ko Tao is another one of my favourite islands, its quite small and has that same village feel as Ko Phi Phi. As we pulled into the pier we saw beautiful beaches but the water was full of oil from the boats which really spoil it....such a shame.

Ko Tao has got good night life, it has great bars that play live music and beach bars that have fire dancers and late night parties. We had a few good nights out at Lotus bar which is the main beach bar which led to even later nights clubbing at the Castle club. There is a really cool Assuie bar called Choppers, it has great food and was always really busy. They had an all you can eat BBQ where Ryan certainly got is money worth.

Ryan started his Scuba diving course and loves it!! A few days in the class room and then he has got 5 dives with his group. There is a Dutch guy called Johan in his group that became Ryan's buddy. The diving he did was amazing. Four really good dives and one learner dive. He went as deep as 20m and saw three sea turtles, stingrays and giant grouper. He also passed his test with flying colours and so did Johan.

I met a really cool girl call Anita from Oz who became my drinking mate whilst Ryan was on his course. She is living and working on Ko Tao but is leaving soon to go home to Melbourne and she has invited us to go and see her when we get there. It is great travelling, you get to meet so many people from all over the world.....really good to know.

The weather as been really bad while we are here, I think we only had one nice sunny day and the rest just rain, rain, rain. Which was ok for Ryan on his Scuba diving course because he was already under water, but for me it was not so great! My plan was to hit the beach all day and catch up on my tan but instead I had to sit in a bar drinking.....oh such a shame :-)

We left Ko Tao and was heading to main land to go back up to Bangkok and then on to Laos. The day we left the storm was getting really bad and we had a 4 hour boat journey to get us to Chumporn (mainland). I can honestly say I have never been so scared in my life. The sea was soooo choppy and the waves and swells so high and crashing into the side of the boat. The boat was tipping from side to side, there were times we really thought it was going to capsize, we were looking for our life jackets and escape routes if it did tip over. Everyone was throwing up (including me) and every time the boat tipped everybody screamed. It was the longest 4 hours of my life. We then had to get on a 10 hour bus journey to Bangkok and then a 14 hour overnight train journey to Laos. These are the tough times when travelling.
We were glad we left Thailand that day as a few days later all the islands were flooded and everyone was stranded in the storms.

Love these photos. Everything looks so chilled. Wish I could transport myself there right now and just eat, drink and sunbathe all day in those surroundings . . . .
