Arrived in Patong in Phuket, not my favorite place in Thailand but we are only staying a few nights so that we can go on the day trip to the Similan Islands. (a cluster of tiny Islands in the Indian Ocean)

We found Phuket quite sleazy, very commercial (like Bangkok) hundreds of OLD Western Men with young Thai girls. yuk
The beach was nice, the food was good and the cocktails even better :-)

We went on our day trip to Similan Islands, set out early at 6am got picked up in mini van and took an hour to get to the pier. We then had an hour speed boat ride to get to the Islands. Clear blue waters and White powder sand...... Paradise!!

On our first stop we had to climb up this mountain to get to the view point, this was very tricky in bare feet as you had to walk over big rocks and step ladders. But it was worth all the pain as the view was amazing. We then had some time to relax on the beach and go for a swim.

Next stop was snorkeling around beautiful coral, we saw sea turtles, sail fish and lots of other amazing multi coloured fish.

We then went onto the next island, we had some lunch and enjoyed more sunbathing and swimming.

Our final stop was for more snorkeling, Ryan was too fast for me and swam off with the tour guide. I took my time and doggy paddled by the boat.. :-)

Speed boat back to pier and then back home to hotel, what a day. This day trip was worth every penny.
