In our Shirts!

This last week of work and tutoring passed as normal as any, however, the entire week was beautiful and I spent a ton of my free time in the park. Come Friday I was more than ready for a day off to relax in the sun. Friday morning I ran a few errands and then headed to Laura´s house to make t-shirts for a concert we would go to on Saturday. We spent a good few hours planning them out, drawing and coloring them with permanent marker. They turned out great! Afterwards Laura and I met up with Sam and Sandy at the park between both their apartments. This park was unbelievable. It is surrounded with a 1.2 k running track and in the center it has football fields, paddle courts, a small golf course, a driving range, fountains, playgrounds and stationary abs and strength equipment. I was so impressed. We need something like this in Oregon 😉. Sam and I ran a few laps together while the girls walked and then we met up at the equipment to do some abs work. Afterwards Sam had to leave for work so Laura, Sandy and I laid in the sun by the fountains, relaxing and chatting. Finally we decided to head out and I joined Sandy at her house for dinner. We put on an Aussie movie and then Sandy made BBQ ribs (delicious!).

Saturday was another great day. Once again the sun was out and it was super warm. I headed to the small park near my house and went for a run. The park was full of old couples walking around, old men playing games and kids running around the playground. It was the first time I had ever seen my park busy (everyone was out enjoying the weather). Afterwards I headed back home to start to get ready for the concert. I got all my stuff together and then walked to Goya to meet Laura at the Stadium. We were well over 3 hours early for the concert and stood/sat in line until about 7pm. At this time the line pretty much stopped existing. Apparently a line in Spain means a big blob or mosh pit. We were smashed together, shuffling inch by inch until finally they opened the doors. Once inside we headed to (what I thought) were our seats. Come to find out...we were on the ground floor! Literally front row at a Taylor Swift concert. I was so stunned. We only paid about $50 American dollars for our tickets, I was not expecting ground floor at all. But come to find out, the seats tickets are much more expensive in Spain. Rather than crowd the stage for most of the concert we decided to be near the second stage. For the beginning of the concert we were at the back of the ground floor but after a few songs Taylor walked off the stage and through the crowd, shaking our hands on the way, and up the stage directly in front of us. She continued to sing three songs from there, headed back through the crowd and up to the big stage. I was so happy, but Laura was ten times happier because she loves Taylor Swift. When I say she loves Taylor, that´s an understatement 😉. She was literally crying. It was probably the best concert I have ever been to and probably will ever go to. I mean I doubt I will get the opportunity to be front row again. I am so glad we got to go together.

Sunday brought an even more beautiful day than the few before. It was a clear blue, not a cloud in the sky day, and almost 70 degrees. I love spring in Spain 😉. I spent the morning in my park again and then Sandy and I decided to have a Picnic in Retiro. I cooked up a few things, grabbed a blanket and walked to the Park to meet Sandy. We got there fairly early and were there for almost 3 hours, eating food and lying in the sun. It was so warm and relaxing. The park was filled with tons of people playing games, having picnics or just socializing. It was an amazing day. I even left with a tan 😉. I am so glad spring is here!

Thanks for the photos of the concert. I bet that was pretty exciting. Grandkids Chance and Dakota are here for the week! Going to help with the evening bath now...
