Yosemite - day 2

March 15 Yosemite - Tulare
Woke up to a cold and wet world outside my truck. I was nice and snug in my sleeper but after a while decided I may as well get up and go have some breakfast at the Yosemite Lodge. I was thinking a nice breakfast of pancakes and eggs with sausage and hot coffee.
So I quickly got dressed and loaded up my stuff out of the bear proof container and headed over to the Yosemite Lodge like Pavlov's dog when he heard the bell ring. What a disappointment. Instead of clean white tablecloths with attractive waitresses they had a food court........!!!! With different lines for everything and then a line for paying while your food gets cold. The Ahwahnee was not open for the season so there was no where else to go. I left in disgust and found a picnic area and just ate my grape nuts that I put some raisens in to sweeten. It had been cold when I got up but the sun had come out and it was warming up quickly. It had turned into a beautiful day. After eating my breakfast I headed out south on Hwy 14 so as to go out a different way from which I had come it.
After the usual lengthy climb I came up to a large pullout parking area called the "Tunnel View" because it is next to a tunnel. The weather was beautiful by now and the view was magnificent. From the lot you could see El Capitan, Half Dome , and Bridal Veil Falls as well as a panoramic view of the Yosemite Valley. A really awesome view. After taking in the view for a lengthy time I continued my way out of the park on the usual hairpin curves and climbs then declines till I got out of the park. I had meant to stop at Fresno but drove through it and stopped about 40 miles south at Tulare which had a Motel 6 for $42.61 with taxes and Internet fee. They had tons of stores and restaurants around it and maybe tomorrow I will see if I can get a short stack with eggs and sausage. And Coffee.
