Avebury Standing Stones
11th and 12th March 2011
OK, so the deal is that Internet is going to be intermittent from now on so we will type it, save it and post it online when we can. We decided to walk to Paddington station from the hotel which didn't take too long and caught the train to Hayes Harlington to pick up the camper. Spent an hour there going over the vehicle and finding out all it's little tricks before hitting the M4 to Bath. Most of the day was spent learning just how much we can trust and have faith in the GPS. She's a bit of a tart and it appears that she likes to send us down many small country lanes and by passing towns. Our camper is called TinMan so today Dean named the GPS Dorothy as she is leading us down many a yellow brick rd. Dorothy also does not know when it's market day and some roads are closed.she has now gotten sick of us ignoring her at times and switches herself off. We have a good map and have made our way through Avebury on the way to Bath, checking out the stone circles there rather than at Stonehenge. You can get up closer to these ones. ToOk a photo of Dean sitting in a particular spot in a rock which we found out later was called the Devils Chair. Quite apt! Bath was amazing with it's sandstone buildings. I had a look inside the Roman Baths.those Romans were bloody clever!I'm sure we'll see more of that ingenuity over the next few months. After a feed of cod and chips, (did you hear that Ewan?) we found a campground and set up our cost little home. Eg by gum it's champion!!! Today we set off early and drove from Bath, across to Exmoor and Devon and into Cornwall. We spent some time in Bude and have stocked up supplies. I was allowed a turn at driving and Dean only pressed his invisible brake once. It's started to rain, the first rain since we arrived in blighty so we've been lucky. Washing is done,we've settled in for the night and will spend some wifi time catching up on footy scores

Tinman and Dorothy
Very aptly named and Shelley glad to hear you got a turn at driving Tinman. It sounds like you are better off with the map. Have renamed Black Bitch chook to Dorothy as she leads me a merry dance too so thanks for that hint lolol. All is well. Mornings getting cooler but brilliant days so far. I am off out to Tinopai today to meet up with the widow of a guy (friend) who died suddenly and she has asked me to do the funeral. Very scary but I am glad I said yes. Think of me on Tuesday our time and send calming thoughts out into the vapour. Ewan is so jealous of the real cod and chips. Sounds yummy although he bought himself a couple of fresh flounder at the market yesterday and gutsed himself silly. Rang Perry last night but he was in the middle of watching the Warriors game and they were not doing well. He had mates around so it was a quick call. I havent checked yet what happened. Keep on travelling kids and I have not yet seen where the food was ummmm salad? or have I just missed that bit lol. Luv yas both. take care. Ma and him xxxxx
