tango show
at cafe Tortoni 26/04/06 - 09/05/06
hola mis amigos!!!
estoy muy bien en Buenos aires!!!
this has to be...without a doubt...one of my favourite places in the world...ive been here for almost 2 weeks and am finding it hard to leave this place...and i wasnt even meant to be here at this point. i thought i´d come to BA to relax and get my life organised, but what ive found is that there is no such thing as relaxation when you are staying at a hostel called MILHOUSE!!! the best hostel ive ever been to...100 people...everyone my age, everyone with the same mindset...everyone up for a party and day of the week! some people have been here for almost a month!!!
my clubbin experience in BA..the night never starts before 2am!!! the last 2 weeks has become a culture where i wake up at 3pm...have breakfast/lunch/dinner....do some touristy things...go back for evening nap...then go downstairs to the bar (in the hostel), chillin with everyone before finally headin out at 2, maybe 3...
CLUB GUIDE
27th april- party at club69- this club has to be experienced! like no other. electronica music. bodies grinding. stage full
Football
i loved the first match so much...i went to see another one!
Bocca Vs estudiantes...Bocca won4-0 of freaks on parade- outlandishly dressed, using strange ´instruments´...suggestive dancing...
extra story- i meet this girl from my hostel...chat chat chat...find out that she lives 2 suburbs away from me in sydney...works in westmead...in my hospital...as a physiotherapist...and knows me!!!! small world!!her name is Victoria... in fact we had met a couple of times. there is also another australian doctor at the hostel who works in melbourne with some of my friends (her name is Catherine...and she knows u guys- Bartek and Jason). also another sydney physiotherapist named Matt, used to work in POW and knows u Andrew Dimitri!!! SMALL WORLD!!!!!
28th april- taken out in the city by a guy that i had met in Bariloche- Hernan. he is a local, alot of fun, and knows how to party. met alot of his friends, helps me when my spanish gets lost and shows me all the cool places to go out! start of in the funkiest bar ive ever seen called Milion- its like a classic european house turned into a bar...marble floors, decadence everywhere, chandeliers, intricately carved doors, spiral staircases...wow!!! then we head out to a club called Opera bay...very loosely based on opera house in australia.
Friday- Sunset
this stage performance was damn sexy!! this city is truly preoccupied with sex! 5 rooms of beautiful aregentian people, latin dance, electronica, remixed favourite...muy chique!!
Saturday 29th april- PACHA- God is a DJ!!! never danced so hard. everyone in a world of their own, dancing like there´s no tommorow
Sunday 30th- we loved Opera bay so much that we went back!!!
Monday 1st May- Rest Day
Tuesday 2nd May- Israeli Independence Day. some of us get ivited to the only israeli party in BA. a bar called KANDI, with dance floor in the back...playinn Iraeli rock and techno...all the isrealis singing along to all their familiar songs...
Wednesday 3rd May- took a class in tango...admittedly i was by far the best male there!!! guys cant dance!!! Went back to Milion to have drinks with my hot ex spanish teacher from Bariloche. she is back in BA for her birthday and invited all her students that were visiting BA.
Thursday 4th May- went out with my new friend Hernan to his friend´s house party...i was the only foreigner...group of 20 of us, drinking, chattin..in SPANISH!!! eating empanadas...danced tango, salsa...even belly dancing...one girl had been taking lessons and they had some arabic music there!!! then went out with them
Cementerio de la recoleta
each person or family´s burial site is like a house!! to a bar called UNICO...great going out with the locals. this culture is so beaautiful, intelligent and cultured people!! i love it!!!
Friday 5th MAy- clubbed at SUNSET. with a half naked show on stage...this was a hot club...what seemed like 100 rooms of dancing...this city is preoccupied with sex and sensuality!!
Saturday 6th- my body needed a break, my liver nedded detox, and my savings needed saving!!!
sorry there is so much detail, but i felt i needed to describe it you to give u the sense of what goes on here in this city...een the locals party like this, then go to work, and sleep to wake up and do it again!!!
Have spent so much money here..its so easy...but ive had the best time!! its a great thing that i ´HAVE TO´ come back here two more times during this holiday!!! woohoo!!! definitely will be stayin at milhouse!!
WHEN NOT CLUBBING...
i have also managed to do some touristy things...saw some museums, visited the zoo, visited Evita´s grave... walked around and absorbed the city!
The city is beautiful...every alley way, every door entry is reminiscent of
partyin with Milhouse
everynight a party!!! this is my signature shot!! old age european beauty...its something that we lack back in australia...
oh and i went and saw two separate soccer/football matches!! River plata(Argentina) vs corinthians (Brazil)...am a fan of this sport now!!! i loved the experience.. we sat with the locals. the whole match we would be up jumping up and down like a monkey, cheerin on with them. there would be streamers everywhere...little kids no older than 5 would know all the chants off by heart...you would feel the emotion when the other team gets a goal, and would get goosebumps from exhiliration when the argentinian team would score...the stands were packed, the atmosphere undescribable!!
loved it so much that i went and saw another match a few days later!!!
