Peninsula!
It may look nice, but it was very cold! Hello Everyone!
Well the time has come for me to bid a fond farwell to a land down under! Have been here nearly six months now and have had an amazing time, I'd recommend anyone to come here! Have really enjoyed living in Melbourne and it very much feels like a home away from home and I'll be sad to leave as I have a lot of fond memories of this place. Though at the same time I'm looking forward to moving on and seeing lots of new things. Anyways, here's a little run down of what I got up to in my last six weeks in Melbourne.
For our last six weeks we spent five of them working and the last one seeing the sights of Melbourne that we otherwise hadn't got round to doing! Alongside that we had some nights out, as predicted, and even managed a weekend away! Oh and obviously there was the neighbours loving too!
Mornington Peninsula One weekend my aussie friend Chris took Sarah, Cathy and I down to his neck of the woods, the Mornington Peninsula. On the friday night we 'broke into' Chris parents' lesiure centre after
hours fully equipped with our boxes of wine. There was no intention of using the gym, for us it was all about sitting in the spa drinking wine and playing on floats! Was great fun! The following day we then toured the peninsula, taking in some beaches before heading to Arthur's Seat, where there were amazing views over Melbourne and the surrounding area. We then headed to 'The Enchanted Maze Garden', which was this amazing place just full of mazes! (see what i did there?) From there we headed back to Melbourne via a big fat pub lunch!
Ramsay Street Tour Oh my god! This was potentially the best thing in the world, and so so cheesy! The neighbours bus picked us up in the centre of town (cue embarassment) and we were on only a matter of minutes before being forced to sing the theme tune! We also had 'entertainment' on the bus in the form of Neighbours stars' music releases and classic neighbours episodes including Scott and Charlene's wedding! From here we drove to the school, which we couldn't really recognise all that much from the show! Then it was on to Ramsay street
Back to School!
Just missing the sexy neighbour's uniform! where we got very snap happy! Was so surreal being there but so much fun! Would recommend the tour to anyone as it was the cheesiest most exciting thing ever!
Yet another Neighbour's Night! Obviously before we left we had to go to our final Neighbour's Night! This time the line up was Harold, Ned and Connor. Plus Karl Kennedy and his band! Was yet another great night and I managed to win free drinks owing to the fact I was screming the neighbours theme the loudest! Classy! The jokes, games and style of the evening may be the same every week but the neighbour's night really is one of the best nights out you can have! Ever! And the fact they sell Snakey B's at the venue helps a lot too! Gonna miss these nights loads!
A selection of Nights out - After work drinks took a turn for the worse one friday with Sarah not having much luck 'tossing the boss' and us ending up at the karaoke bar. Again. Jump for my love!
- The Easter weekend was a bit of a big one, as I expect it
was for you guys too! It featured boxes of goon, working class men, a house party (not ours!) and one irish pub! Oh and the obligatory pizza!
- One neighbour's night we didn't actually attend the night in question but ventured along to the venue afterwards to meet up with Cathy and her friends! Then once there we bumped into some Mildert people - Caroline, Dale and Jo ! Very crazy! Then the next night we all met up again when we were far more sober and shared a civilised meal!
- When Cathy's friend Heather arrived in Melbourne we decided we had to show her a big night out. Cue too much cheap wine plus tequila shots and the evening ends at midnight! Error!
Our Last Week in Melbourne Well our last week here we just mostly got round to doing things that we otherwise hadn't got round to doing! This included heading to the botanical gardens, walking round Albert Park Lake, generally walking round Melbourne city centre, heading to the observation deck, visiting the Queen Victoria Markets and perhaps most excitingly, heading to Fountaingate mall, the spiritual home of Kath and Kim!
Lesiure Centre Burglars!
Chilling with our vino in the spa! Very fabulous! No doubt you're very jealous of that Rob!!! As well as that I've managed to catch up with people who I've met elsewhere in my travels and have a couple of nights out then! Tonight we're planning a big one as its our last chance and we're getting a lot of us together to hit the town! Tha plan is to take it kinda easy as I don't wanna feel bad tomorrow! My last day in Australia doesn't need to be a hungover one!!!
So anyways, that concludes my time in Australia!! Have really enjoyed my time here but I'm pretty much looking forward to being able to start travelling again!!! New Zealand will be cool as Soaz will be joining us, as well as Jo who was my blind date!! And another good reason to leave is it's turning cold here and I'm all pasty!!! Though New Zealand won't be any better!!! Bring on Fiji!!
So take care everyone and catch up with you all soon!!
Much Love
