Dear all, We have just left the island of Koh Tao after 12 glorious days basking in the compete beauty of the island. We ave moved on to Ko Samui and the culture change is more than a large shock ot us both. The days since our scuba diving course were spent relaxing by thepool of our hotel (pool!!! never thought we could afford such a luxury!!) and exploring the island. We decided to embark on a round the island snorkling boat trip which was fantastic! basically the boat stopped at 5 different dive sites around the island and we all jumped off and went looking for the fish, of which we saw thousands!! In some cases they were swimming right up to our masks, which was quite amazing, we also bought an underwater camera so hopefully in the near future (if the pictures come out!) we may be able to puit a few pics of this online. The first stop of the day was to shark bay, where as its name suggests, the islands shark community hang out! We swam all over the bay for about 45 mins looking for the sharks, but to no avail! and to make matters worse we were basically the only people on the boat who didnt get to see them! but we can still tell everyone that we swam with sharks...... we just didnt actually see them!! Also while on the boat we heard this great splashing noise and a sucking of air, when we looked over the side of the boat a large turtle had just surfaced for air right beside the boat, and it was massive!! We also had a few more nights in the previously mentioned dry bar and also managed to celebrate some austrialian holiday with a free bbq in an austrialian bar called choppers, was so good to get some proper steak!! the night also included a irish band called the roaring bhoys, who played some great covers and actually played a few frames tracks which was quite sureal!!
So far Samui has been a huge shock to us as we now have to get used to traffic and proper roads and buildings with more than one floor again. Koh Tao had nothing of that nature, but did contain everything that we could ever have required. It really seems to represent the image of the Thai island that everyone

Its just two islands with a sand bank in between!! amazing place
trys to find. We cant wait to go back! Life on the island was just so chilled and everyone there was there to enjoy themselves. We made so many new friends and towards the end it was just like summer bay from home and away were we could not go anywhere in our little village without meeting someone we knew or being asked on a night out! So far from what we have seen of Samui it dosnt share these characteristics, but we will give it time! Anyway we couldnt recomend Koh Tao enough, the village of Sariee, The New way Diving school and even Sunset Buri resort, all fantastic!

Take care everyone, thanks for the birthday wishes and talk to you all soon
