So- it seems as though I am not as much of a sun seeker as I anticipated. I am loving the slighly overcast/ cloudy smokey cooler Hanoi weather!

I am curently sitting on a suede sofa (my bed) with huge french doors opening to a lake view balcony. I had cookie for breakfast and am having thanksgiving tomorrow... I have also begun using the word "awsome" and "dang"... That's right, I am living with Amricans. I really like Hanoi. The Old Quarter is so busy and vibrant and there are shops with EVERYTHING in them, an strees dedicated to each item (i.e. silk street). I did REALLY well a resisting buying the whole place, as I will come back next July and there is no point carrying stuff around for 9 months.

People in Hanoi are very fashionable, wear heels a lot and dye and curl their hair (compared to the Mekong this is big). The streets are BUSY an we have been caught in rush hour a few times. One of my drivers got his foo run over by a minius weaving through traffic. They guys are taking it in turns to take me to different places (shift work) and i have been to the prison, snake village, ceramics village and perfume pagoda. I am yet to carry somethin ridiculous on the back of the bike, but i have ridden side-saddle and experienced a flat tyre on 'the highway'.

My favourite food here is spinache (morning glory) and garlic, with spicy soy sauce. I have it daily. I may use today to finish my ridiculously large book and leave it for the boys to remember me by!

I have just added SHED loads of photos onto facebook, and been a looser and commented on quite a lot of them.

Oh, and the maid did all my laundry yesterday while I was out on my little family outting into the hills and lakes. These guys are freinds with Vietnamese people and so we are learning the culture and language! Although I cannot repeat it properly (due to lack of accents on this keypad) Di thoi = Let's go.

Bye for now. Xx

Just uploaded photos- and the icecream van and rag and bone van have funny sounds/ music here and are often push bikes.
