Finally the day my roommate has been telling me about since forever had come.. Bermuda Shorts Day! BSD is huge, that was already clear to me. Besides the wristband for the beer garden I even had to get a wristband to be allowed to get into my building, since they didn’t want any people who don’t live there in residence, to prevent to many crazy parties in rez (which of course doesn’t help at all J) BSD is officially the last day of class, but since part of the campus is transformed into a huge beer garden, as you can imagine not that many people actually go to class J. My day started at 9 with a (free, so as a real Dutch girl I had to be there of course..) pancake dinner outside of the residences.. It was a lot less busier than I’d expected it to be, probably because so many people had already started drinking on some house party (really, they started at 8 am or something..). Around 11.30 we joined the line up for the beer garden, which opened at noon. We were amazingly lucky with the weather, it was so sunny that even I took of my sweater and sat down in just a top for a while.. Well, and how should I describe BSD.. It was just crazy. Live music, lots of not too expensive beer (sorry, I’ll never use the word cheap to refer to Canadian beer), lots of drunk people, lots of sun, and, cliché, but true, lots of fun. Supposedly it is the largest on campus party in Canada and whole Calgary knows about it.

I was exhausted when I went home around 5. In the evening we made some pasta with a bunch of friends, and afterwards many of them decided to go to the Roadhouse to party on. I however was to tired from the day and the days before, in which I had so much to do for my courses, so I went home. But I had a great day anyway, my first and only BSD..
