Lanta International
Language school resides in one of these buildings and I spend most weekdays here. We have now spent 2 weeks studying and my Thai is picking up. It´s really hard and difficult but very rewarding and it´s great to be able to go to the restaurants and order in Thai. Or to try to start a most basic conversation about ages, names and where we come from and what we like.
They have a big market at the school in Saladan every quarter and this week it was time again. Lots of food stalls and shops with all kinds imaginable and unimaginable things for sale. Along with the arrow throwing, ball throwing and soft air gun shooting stalls. Live music on a huge stage for this small town.
It's been quite cold last couple of days and we are starting to get cold when the temperature ventures below 30 degrees Celsius. Must be a sign that we are more acclimatized with the weather now, as with the food and spices.
It's still low season and the winds are still blowing in the wrong direction so the beaches are still looking like garbage dumps even if it is getting a little better every day. Some blame the Indians for all the garbage some
phii phii island, but now it's just a few more weeks until it turns around and the sea will become clearer and the beaches here will be nice and clean again.
And that would be about the same time as the boats starts to go to Hin Daeng & Hin Mueng and we plan to resume our diving. Seems like really good dive sites and we are looking forward to go there.
We have also made some visits to the small hospital in Saladan due to a unfortunate accident (Me and my son managed to crash into each other) but all well except for some minor scratch marks and bruises, and a bike in the repair shop.
Now that we have settled ourselves comfortably here on Ko Lanta, I'll probably write less here but hopefully the pictures will grow in numbers and keep some of you a little updated.
Peace
Casparis, Arjuna and Sofus
