Early train journey down to philly to meet jills friends there, looking forward to a relaxing break from the hectic city life. 1 hour 30 minutes and we arrive at trenton station and we're picked up by Christina.!! we got lost on way to her house but it was no big deal as it helped to see how americans drive for i will be driving myself here soon!!
Christina lives in a lovely wee house in a bonnie neighbourhood. its a bit like cults in aberdeen. nicely spaced houses with plenty of greenery and tidy gardens. There are lots of people coming over tonight for food and beers, its nice jill can meet old friends that she hasnt seen for 5 years or so. We get settled and people start arriving, what a nice bunch of people. extremely friendly and they made us feel very welcome. I struggled to keep my accent short and slow but after a few beers i forgot and was a bit fast for them at points but it worked out ok. we played a funny board game later on which was about pronouncin words so that helped in my
case!! I met Christinas mum sandra and she is a cracking lady. my kind of humour. we got on like house on fire talking about lots of different stuff from vacations in germany to english kings aswell as beers and i taught her what weegies meant!! haha..what a laugh we had....she was meant to be home but stayed the night!! cant wait to see her before we go. drunk at 11pm. bedtime!!

Tuesday 17th
Did one of my missions at breakfast by going to local diner for breakfast and having
egss bacon toast fried potatoes and as much coffee as i could drink!! quality!! i think ill skip lunch! we then toured around philadelphia city and stopped off at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in Philadelphia to do the steps that rocky ran up in the film!! great fun!! Christina and i were humming the rocky tune all the way up as jill filmed us acting like a pair of kids.. nice one! into the city for a walk and a Fat Tuesday diner - The Daiquiris Store. its basically slush puppie bar with Daiquiris of all flavours. just what we needed as it was bakin hot in the sun today. Highways are mental here, we drove home as it was quite busy but enjoyable takin in the surrounding scenery.
