Sorry everyone, Take 3 with our London adventure!
Some photos from England in the previous blog (the Blog with Paris text and London photos- oops!)

Below is Alex's account of our week in London, with Mum typing! Using a western European keyboard, so please bare with me!!

Friday
We walked to Tower Bridge beside the Thames river. We walked past the Tower of London (where they they keep the crown jewels). Tower bridge is a bridge that opens up to let big ships sail up the Thames river. We climbed one the towers to the top and learnt about different bridges and how they are built. Different bridges include arch bridge, suspension bridge. We then walked down the other tower and down to the engine room where the big engines lift the bridge up and I got to hold some very heavy tools.

We then walked along the river on Queens walk. We continued through the Tate Modern Museum and the Millenium bridge. We went to the Borough Markets and Hamish (my Auntie's boyfriend) showed us around. I had a roast pork baguette gor lunch! Yum Yum!

After lunch we headed back along the river to Big Ben and Westminster. Big Ben is the name of the bell, not the tower! So we listened to big Ben chime! Westminster is the home of England's Parliament. It used to be a castle owned by a King many thousands of years ago. Westminster Abbey is the Cathedral behind Westminster and is very big and old. Lots of buildings are very old in London, like before Jesus was born.

That night for dinner, Hamish cooked us a BBQ dinner with fresh homemade bread. Yum! That was delicious!

Saturday
Today we caught a double decker bus and we went to the Natural History Museum where we saw dinosaurs and the Human body! The skeletons of the dinosaurs were amazing and really cool and some of their teeth were longer than my arm! Human Body exhibition- I saw how a baby grows inside its mum's tummy, I saw a brain connected to the spinal cord in a jar, and some different types of eye tests.

Then we walked around the corner to the National Science Museum and spent lots of time in Launchpad. A kids section of the museum like Scienceworks. It was awesome. (There is a picture of kids trying to build an arch bridge in published photos- SP) WE saw an explosion show where the lady tried to blow lots of things up including a Barbie doll! Very cool!

We then walked to Harrods, a famous shop in London where my Auntie works sometimes. We did some shopping and it was very busy. After Harrods we than one to Hamish´s favourite restaraunts called Terroior for dinner. I had Pork Belly with lentils and herbs, it was a bit fancy for me! After dinner we caught the tube home.

Sunday
Today we had a sleep in and then went to the London Eye, which is a huge ferris wheel. First we went into a 4D experience of the London Eye. It was a 3D movie (with glasses) and we could smell things in the movie too! Very cool! The London Eye was a great experience for me because we could see lots of London from the top. The top of Big Ben Tower. After the London Eye we had lunch in the gardens beside the Thames and then a cruise on the Thames River. The guide who was telling us where things were was very funny and informative. I learnt that London Bridge fell down 11 times since it was built!! Mum kept singing a song about London bridge falling down?!

After an icecream we hopped on a double decker bus to tour around London. We saw Hyde Park which used to be the hunting ground of the Kings. We saw Buckingham Palace where the Queen lives. We saw war memorials, Marble arch, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, and the Ritz Hotel where Oma went with Auntie Marie and Hamish. WE also saw the hotel where Masterchef stayed when they were in London.

That night we went to dinner at Hamsih's restaurant called Hix. He made us a special drink for me and my sisters while the adults had cocktails and beer. We were in the cognac room and Hamish let me play a new type of billards, mushroom billards! I won. I also got to touch a real lobster. It's pincers were tied up. It felt wet and bumpy. For dinner I had fish and chips with mushy peas. Yum, delicious! 10/10! After dinner, Hamish showed us around the restaurant kitchen. We met the chef who makes the desserts. We got to choose our own icecream. I chose strawberry! It was very late that night and we were all tied, so we got a taxi home.

Ok Well done Alex! a descriptive version of our first few days in London. Having a great time! Stay tuned for the next installment! love from all of us in UK! xx

Looks like you guys are having a terrific time. Love to you all - Guru and Mrs Guru and kiddies
