The most expensive hotel on the trip was San Carlu in Ajaccio, Euro 69.00 for 16 square meter but the airco was good and the bed as well.
An hotel that really plannes in advance for the at least 10 years old cabinet had already the ventilation possibility for the refregerator. Probably they were still saving to buy it.
And as service they accepted a postcard for the USA and should bring it to he postoffice .Bravo San Carlu, better service than EXPO Valencia. Even if in the end they donot do it, it gave a good feeling.
I ll check if the card arrives in the USA.

My french friend Jean Pierre goes already on holiday to Corsica for ever and I admit Jean Pierre it s beautiful. My 36 hours stay was perhaps a bit too short but I can imagine. Bonifacio at the last corner of Corsica has kind of hanging houses on the mountains. Specially the view from see is great.
Actually all views are great and a lot of trees are blooming now.

Of course I ve been in the house of Napoleon what is nowadays a small but rather complete Napoleon museum.

In the passed Corsica have been owned by Genoa. In about 1770 Pasqual Paoli, the national hero proclaimed the republic. Freed a lot of land from the Italians but not the main citadels. He just let them.
In the end Genoa did not know how to solve the problem and sold the island to France in 1780. Happy France. Now they got Napoleon for free.

Had a three hours busride for 130 km from Ajaccio to Bonifacio. Walked my way to the ferry what was farther than I hoped for and had the 5 o clock ferry who brought me within an hour to Sardegna to the village Santa Teresa Di Gallura.

My six days in France were good. Saw a lot and trains run in time. Only there are so many french and only a very few are really trying to do there best to help if asked. A pity. I m sure Mr Sarkozy does not know that otherwise he should start right away one of his projects
