Tawnya's new clothes in all their glory
I dropped into Seoul for a few days to do some banking and catch up with friends. It was almost like I had never left the place, although with my absence I had forgotten the extremes of the place.

Ajumas: I gotta say, I had forgotten how bad these animals are. On my flight from Bangkok to Hong Kong I tried to put my seat back and immediately got shoved upright from behind. Yup... three ajumas sitting there with the floral shirts, excess makeup, and dyed tight permed hair. I tried to negotiate a settlement and only put my chair back a few inches, but negotiating with ajumas is impossible (which is why Korean men never have any say in family matters) and trying to match them for physical strength is pretty pointless unless you are a professional wrestler.

On the other hand, agashis are very pretty. I still haven't worked out how one gets to the other, but it's a pretty drastic change. Walking to Tawnya's place from the bus stop was like watching a tennis match - my head just kept turning from side to side.

few days I was in Seoul, was an awesome host and was kind enough to give me the bed and she slept on the floor. Awesome freind.

On the other hand....

Friends and Fashion

On my first night there Tawnya accidentally locked me out of the house. What was worse was that I told her on the phone that I was locked out and she didn't believe me. After my second night of no sleep I called Tawnya to let me in and she felt as guilty as hell.

Naturally I took advantage of this guilt.

Later in the day we were walking through a subway station and saw some really horrible ajuma blouses. Without thinking, Tawnya blurted out, "I would wear one of those tonight if it would make it even." Anyone else might have let it pass... I also bought her a scarf which was pretty bad as well. Poor thing.

That night we were catching up with a group of friends - Adam, Simon, Brandan, girlfriends and others. Poor Tawnya was incredibly embarrassed all night, while the rest of us thought it was hilarious. Except for Adam, who was embarrassed

Adam (Zach) and Simon are pretty normal people. However, they have both been in Korea for ten years.
to be seen with American ajuma in the horrid blouse.

We crawled from pub to pub and nightclub, always making sure they were well populated so that Tawnya could get the maximum exposure.

I think it's a night that we'll all remember!

Brandan, being a rock star, usually has a few chicks hanging around. I don't think these are both his girlfriends, but...

That's BrandOn to you sir...
but you're right. They aren't my girlfriends. Just two groupies I picked up after a show. (Actually that's not that completely untrue)..
