Lake Geneva from my train seat window
All aboard! Jody and I trained from Zurich to Geneva yesterday afternoon after a wonderful few days with Karin and her god cousin Steven. The ride across the Swiss countryside was spectacular, and it only got better as the ride went along. With about 20 min left on the ride we came around a corner and came upon lake geneva. It's a pristine clear blue lake surrounded by mountains and lush green vinyards.

We arrived at Stade de Geneve just as they opened the gates for an Italy vs. Switzerland friendly soccer game. We sat on the 2nd row just to side of the goal in the visiting fans Italian side. They were great seats except for having to hear viva italia all game and not Hopp Schwiiz. It ended in a 1-1 tie be was a great first pro soccer game experience for us both. It's amazing how much Europeans like the wave. They never get tired of it, and I have to admit that I found the wave much more enjoyable than I ever have before lash night.

Today, Jody and I tooled around and explored geneva. We found some good restaraunts, walked around the picturesque lake

and played some giant chess at the park. Tomorrow we're headed to the UN and red cross museum. We also found a place to have fondue before we leave Switzerland. Only a few more days left on the journey. Thanks for staying tuned to our travels and hopefully we can update you with some more pictures soon.
