Since Halong Bay was rather intense, I decided to take a break for a few days in Hanoi. I got a room that's a little nicer than usual and have been kicking back and doing some housekeeping.

That and apparently jellyfish stings flare up after initially getting better, which is a pain in the butt. It's actually worse now than it ever was before. Still more of a nuisance than anything.

Hanoi is a little more comfortable than HCMC. It's about 85* here, compared with high 90's and 85% humidity.

Found a couple great little food places where I can get a meal for a little under $2, though usually I spend ~$5 to fill up completely.

Again, I'm going to let some of the pictures I snapped do the talking.

My blog is looking for travel photos, tips, etc, to share (like maybe how to treat a jellyfish sting!?). If you have the time, check it out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com, or email me at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com. Continued fun on your travels! Heather :)

my souvenier gift!
I want a pretty red fan. You can buy it at the end of the trip so it doesn't meet an untimely death in your pack. Aren't you glad I solved that one for you? I'm sure you were losing lots of sleep thinking about it! Love the pictures and stories - keep 'em coming!

Looks like a great trip so far
We are enjoying the photos and adventure blog. I know from experience how painful the jelly bites can be. Watch out for the spiny things diving - they hurt too.

hello!
looks sanitary. I hope your jelly fish stings heal fast! That must not be very fun. Also, I heard your Grandma passed away yesterday. I am very sorry and I hope you will be ok being so far away and getting that news.
