We greeted Wednesday with a bright hot sunny day. The great breakfast here and then a look round the shops was the plan. Not the sweaty hectic markets of Bangkok but the air conditioned tourist shopping mall. As luck would have it we discovered our hotel is actually linked to the main shopping centre MBK. We just walked past security and had our bags checked and we were in. It was huge, multi levels with escalators in every direction, shops selling everything imaginable, a cinema, bowling alley, furniture shops, mobile phone shops, eating levels, banking levels, souvenir stalls, supermarkets, department stores etc. Never been to such a large shopping centre before. We could shop until we literally dropped.

Our plan was to check round part of it and then when we wanted a coffee break back to the hotel for a complimentary coffee and then do another bit. Even this took some doing owing to the size of the place. By early afternoon we were pooped so off to the swimming pool and Jacuzzi area and sun beds for a swim and a read. Very relaxing and overdue after the previous day. The weather was brilliant and sun shining strongly so needed a cool off in the pool.

Wendy took a photo of me on the sun bed and yes I was holding my stomach in and we chilled away a few hours. Getting into my new paperback Ken Follett now Wendy has finished it.

For evening meal the thought of the streets was too much so we opted for the Indian restaurant attached to the hotel. We had a lovely meal at a reasonable price with the staff very attentive and chatty. We ended the night with a long hot soak in our mega size bath and off to beddy byes.
