Drove to Vegas. 😊 We traveled along Historic Route 66 with some stops along the way. The first one was a little town where the movie "cars" was based around. It had some quirky stuff like "road kill cafe" and Arizona jail etc. The historic route 66 sign was about a 10 min walk out of town so I didn't go there to get photos but a few people did.

Our hotel/motel was down the end of the strip near Hooters. Reports from past travellers all say the hotel is very basic but it was fine. We were never there anyway. It was very hot. We got ready to hit the town, black dresses and all. Everyone dressed up tonight.

We got a tour of the strip from the bus from one end to the other. Very colorful at night. Then we went to Graceland Wedding Chapel for the "surprise optional" and 2 random ppl were picked to be married by Elvis. Its pretty funny. After that there photo ops with Elvis and then we went to Fermont Street for the Fremont Street Experience. We were shown where we could get cheap football and hourglass frozen cocktails and there was some live bands. 2 old Mexicans tried to pick up me n Cat, they were so wrong. The light and sounds show was awesome, very fun. The roof of the whole street lights up with neon pics and music.

After that we went to 2 night clubs. I can't remember the name of the first but it was 50 or 60 something floors up on Mandalay Bay Resort - awesome views over vegas. The next was Cats Place at Luxor. Cat and I then went out for a feast at Luxor in a restaurant. good food. Then Cat Aaron Jen and I went for a walk around Vegas. We thought we'd all end up bashed when Jen passed a group of guy yelling out OMG Hommies. They were not happy but she was telling them we don't have them in oz so they let it slide. It wasn't too late a night - home about 2:30

Vegas nightclubs
Mix is the nightclub you are referring to atop Mandalay Bay. Killer views, even from the restrooms! Good move to check out Fremont Steet downtown. Always fun! Insiders secret: On the second floor of Fitzgerald's downtown (and open to the public) is the Vue Bar. Reasonable prices and a great view of everything. What hotel you stay in isn't too important if you are just using your room to crash in at night. Fun post! Ted Newkirk Managing Editor AccessVegas.com
