Success - The Gully Travellers are off

Finally, we are on our way, after five days of waiting very nervously, the flight left Melbourne today on time at 3.45pm. Dad, Carol and Hayden were our trusty taxi drivers and got us to the airport in plenty of time. Standing in line we showed off our Clarkee tattoes, much to Peter's embarrassment! Though I did tell him if we are going to get Clark Rubber funding for this trip we would need to make sure Clarkee was seen everywhere around the world, so Clarkees adventure begins now too!! We were about fifth in line to check in and after sending off our bags to Rome, we went to the Irish for lunch and a bottle of champagne. Once we said good bye we literally skipped into the departure hall and then wandered around the duty free area buying stuff to pick up on our return. We had a very uneventful flight to Singapore and have arrived and walked the rows of shops and now have finally collapsed waiting for our flight at 1.05 am to take off. At this stage it does not look like it is delayed and we are all about ready for a sleep now. Well that's it for our first chapter of our trip, we are really happy and excited to start our trip and Pete has our Rome in a day tour all mapped out for us.
