Ok, well I'm here in Vancouver staying in a very nice hotel on the 27th floor with a nice view of the city straight ahead from me and if I look to my left, I have a view of the mountians which still have some snow on them, so I think I picked a good hotel.

So after leaving Dee, Amy and Carly at the airport and after crying yet again, I boarded my plane and sat down between 2 girls, Jaimie, from Kansas and Amanda, from Chicago who was traveling with her husband Josh who is Australian. After about 8 hours one of the air hostess' asked if one of us could swap with an elderly lady as her leg was cramping up and as we had extra leg room, she asked us. So me being the nice person I am, I volenteed, after all it was olny for an hour or so wasn't it?! That's what I was told. Apparently, this older lady was a huge pain in the ass the whole flight, so I found out later I through the flight. After about 3 hours in this ladies seat and all my stuff back where I was origionally sitting and after having absolutly no sleep, I was finally able to go back to my seat for breakfast. I found out from Amanda and Josh that all she did was complain and ask how much longer til we land, you culd imagine how annoying that would be after 3 hours. On the up side, we each got a compenstation voucher to use on our next flight.

After sayng goodbye to my new friends, we all wnt our seperate ways at LAX I headed to my gate. Now you would think that if I came in at gate 79 and was leaving from gate 80, you would think that I wouldn't have to walk very far right?! Wrong! After getting off the plane, I then waited a good half hour to get through customs then had to collect my bags then re check in, then go out of the airport and up the esculator, go back through security and customs again and only wait another 4 hours til my connecting flight to Vancouver. The second part of my flight good and went pretty quick.

Vancouver airport is really nice, who ever heard of having water fountains to look at while you walked from the gate to customs? Very nice. At custom, I was sent to the immigration office to get my visa, and as I'm sitting in my hotel room, they obviously let me in the country lol. I then collected my bags and headed to the train station where I had my first taste of Canadian hospitality. A young girl helped me with the ticket machine as I had no idea what zone I had to go to. Then I met an older couple who turned out to be on the same flight as me, I sat with them on train and talked to them for a bit, they got off at the same stop as me and walked most of the way with me, the man even dragged my bigger suitcase for me. They were really nice. So after that 15 minute walk, I'm thinking I probably lost at least 5kgs right?!

After checking into my hotel, I made my way up to the 27th floor and attempted to get into my room only the find out my key wouldn't work. Back down the lift I go, reception gave me a new key and

a maintence guy come up with me just to make sure it would work, again it didn't. He used his master key to get in the room to find 2 suitcases on the beds. He took the piece of paper from me that had the room number on it, after all that, I had the wrong room, can you believe it?! That's what you get after how ever many hours with out sleep. How embarrassing! By this time, it was about 1730 and I was stuffed. I dumped my stuff, went to find some dinner and found Safeway, and by the way, it's a supermarket here too, I went in and got a few things I needed then got McDonalds for dinner, I wanted something quick, so I got a burger, fries and a hot chocolate, and walked back up the hill to the hotel. I ate my food and went to drink my hot chocolate only to find out, the stupid guy gave my coffee, yuk!!! Down the sink that went. After that, it was bed time, finally.

Ok, A new day, lets hope its better then yesterday. I got out of bed around 9am, only cos I could hear my neighbours out on their balcony, dammit. I slowly got up and got myself ready and was out the door about 10am. Walking up the street, I looked around at differened people, they were all wearing big jackets and long pants, had their hands in their pocket trying to keep warm, they must've though I was pretty stupid. I was wearing 3/4 pants and a 3/4 sleeve top and my joggers, I didn't feel that cold! lol. I headed to Sears, the big department store here in Canada, I needed black shorts/pants for work and some linen. Who would've thought it would be so hard to find black cargo's, anyway, I finally found some and my linen, I also picked up a new sim card and tried to find out about getting a USB Flash drive thing for wireless internet, but as I don't have my SIN number yet, I couldn't get one. So at the moment, I'm on the hotels wireless.

After heading back to my room to bump what I had bought, I picked up my jacket as was starting to get cooler and I was about to head to the harbour, so I wanted to keep warm. So I walked down a big to the harbour and took some photos then walked from one end of the board walk to the other with would've been at least 2kms then had back up the street to the Vogue Theatre where I saw Burn The Floor was opening tomorrow, so guess who's going : ) By this time it was heading for 1800, so I slowly headed back to the hotel after picking some postcards to send home. I activated my new my sim card, then wrote you a story of my last 2 days, hope you all enjoyed lol. I'll update again soon.
