Hi from Malaga!

We left Cordoba yesterday morning and visited the Medinat al-Zahara/Medina Azahara which is just out of town. This is an absolutely fascinating architectural site. It is the site of a 10th century muslim city which was abandoned and looted throughout history then forgotten until excavations began in 1911. There is an excellent exhibition which includes many artefacts which survived the looting. There was a 3D presentation of what the city would have looked like which was excellent to watch before wandering around the excavated portions of the complex.

We then drove to Malaga. We've really enjoyed our time here and have had a chance to relax, wander around the city, people watch and enjoy the many street performers. The highlight of our sightseeing was the Picasso Museum (Museo Picasso Malaga). Picasso was born here in Malaga and his family donated a lot of his work to the museum which has over 150 pieces. There is a great cross section of his work which shows his different styles and mediums. Some we liked and some we didn't understand but it was very interesting!

The beach here isn't as nice as Alicante but we still enjoyed a walk along it and drinks along the way. We also had fun exploring the ruins of the Alcazaba fortress and palace which date from the 8th Century and overlook Malaga.

Today we leave Malaga and head to Seville via a couple of detour sites. Hope you're all well!
