I really could have spent a full week or more in these cities, I now see. There is so much to do and see in Barcelona, and I know that I´m missing a ton. But I´m fine with that. I really feel I´ve gotten to know at least this portion of the city pretty well. I know some street names, have seen the sights, and just relaxed.

I know myself well enough to know that this is good, for I have already come upon a relization on this trip, I am not a solo traveler. It might be different if it wasn´t another country, so foreign in every way, but I can only take so much of the unfamiliar before I decide to take a break, heh, and just write, or read, or watch.

Not that I´ve done nothing. I´ve gotten lost in the streets of Barcelona for hours. Wandered Las Ramblas. Seen an exibition of, supposedly, the only female master spanish guitarist. Made friends with people from Holland... but also New York, Maryland, and Wisconsin, all studing abroad various places. Out of the bars I´ve hit the most noticable would be the Dow Jones. Depending on how much of a particular beer or other type of booze being bought, the price of said drink would go up, or down. They even had on March Madness shiznit, and I got to watch Butler beat Syracuse... something I would never normally care about, but it was fun because most of the people with me knew and cared less than I did... but we all cheered and jeered anyways.

Today is beautiful. I´ve already been out and about a bit. Where the last two days have been overcast, today is full of sunshine, if still cool. I climbed to the top of a cathedral and spent some time taking pictures. Now I need to find how to get to the train station so I can try and reserve a ticket to Madrid tomorrow. Then I may hop on one of those tourist busses that take you to points of interest... but maybe not. Until next time!

(Oh yes, I realize these would probably be much more interesting with pictures... well I left the cord to do that at home, so to bad, heh.)

Going Solo.... a New Rhythm
Hey David. Remember it's only three days into a three week adventure... you are absolutely stretching your comfort zone and being a solo traveler or ANY traveler is new to you. You will get more comfortable with the "breaks" and enjoy reading a book in a plaza or cathedral courtyard. Soak it all in while you can! Love from boring California!
